AFL's Fattest Fatcat Proves Raiderdave correct

Post by King-Eliagh »

Oh Dear....Oh dear oh dear oh my.

That fat goose Demetriou has said it all in his amzingly uncandid, carefully and slyly crafted interview.

http://au.sports.yahoo.com/AFL/news/art ... g-problem/

Yes the AFL has aserious problem, just as Raider has stated all along.

I particularly love the 'drugs are a global problem' line just before highlighting that there'll be a spike in positive drug results for 2012  A dead certainty to fool the likes of our very own knucklebrained buck toothed yokels Xman and Stewie and Pete into believing the spike is totally 'normal'. I also love the line 'and if you do do drugs inevitably you're gunna be caught...so thats what I do know" nicely put after the journo highlights the ben cousins example of never being caught  again Fat Cat Demitrianyonewantsomeblow's words will be snorted up and devoured like a desperate crack addicts consume crack by our knucklebrained yokels Xman, Pete and Stewie.

So you are suggesting that ilicit drugs arent a problem in society? :-k

The AFL are tackling this problem head on. The NRL are sweeping it under the carpet... #-o

 Looks like Demetrianyonewantsomeblow's carefully crafted words have worked a treat on ol Xman!Just as i suspected :\:

They kinda worked on the interviewer also...he failed to ask one single question as to WHY this sudden spike demetrianyonewantsomeblow has so vaguely and defensively forecast.

Is the, much lauded by Xman, AFL's politically correct 'we just wanna help them/we wont name them/we will give them all three chances' excuse of a drug policy not quite doing the job? Raider is right, as is the strategically less clear Demetriwho'sgotdasnow. The professional level is rife with drug use. Even coaching staff are frightened to get calls late at night, for fear its another player juiced up to the nines on some amphetamine. Scary words indeed... My advice? Fix the policy by growing some gonads and taking a hard line with drug users in the sport. I'd love to see this happen for the betterment of the code.

What do our other marngrook supporters think?

he expects a spike because the issue has been raised by some club officials

The AFL are prepared to discuss their policy and its results openly every year. Their policies development was ground breaking and has been followed by other professional sports because it addresses players life skills, behaviour and education. It doesn't just punish which has been shown to fail in the community.

So far the policy has shown excellent results with consistent reductions in positive tests. But if a spike is demonstrated this year I have no doubt the AFL will address the issue and improve the policy again.

Meanwhile the NRL remain silent about their testing and results. This is despite a number of players coming out and saying there is a serious issue in their code too. Sweep sweep.

Got any evidence? Any? Even a little bit? Got any information at all about the NRL and their stance or results on drugs........*crickets chirping.......... #-o

Who is further ahead? The code that acknowledges the problem head on and is willing to discuss it and the solution openly.
Meanwhile the NRL continue on their code of silence. Sweep sweep

What the NRL lacks is transparency. While the AFL can tell you it held 1220 tests for 12 positives last year, the NRL can only say that clubs are required to hold 70 tests per year. If the NRL is going to insist it doesn't have a drug problem, it would be best advised to show some proof
Of course, the NRL would be horrified to read this. But the dogs are barking too loudly. Coaches, officials and players speak privately about it. I have witnessed it enough times to know that it happens.

Mark my words, says Demetriou in his office while chomping krispy kreme doughnuts with his feet on the desk, "If you try drugs you WILL be caught". Meanwhile coaches and club staff are fearing phone calls from players, juiced up to the nines on drugs...again.

Ben Cousins anyone?

And on an even more tragic note. Whatever happened to that port adeliade player who leapt/fell from a balcony in vegas? I recall he was severely confused on his phone msg prior to his passing...

The NRL - Enforces a strict policy on the clubs to conduct min 70 tests per year, allowing the clubs and staff on the ground, closest to the players to deal with the issue.

The AFL - Has their fatcat CEO spouting ridiculous clueless, yet carefully and ambiguously crafted statements from his office, while club staff fear phone calls from a clearly out of control player base and a significant spike in positive drug use is on the way...

The AFL, lacking control and perspective on this important issue.

SO what if they do a little bit of drugs in there off season.

At least AFL players dont get drunk & try to rape the daughter of a major sponsor at the seaon launch like Brett Stewart.
