It'd be pretty cool to see a Test Match between the Kangaroos and Kiwis from Turkey, but somehow it doesn't feel right.

Play a 100 year anniversary match at ANZ stadium and let all the Diggers in for free, play it at the time the Roosters v Dragons is usually played and it'll crack 2 million easily on the box. Other ANZAC Tests have had ratings over 1.8 million with stuff all promotion and shown into 2 states only, now all the tv shit is changed, bring back our ANZAC test. I hate watching the roosters and dragons at the best of times. Gimme someone to support on ANZAC day.

(Fuck, if they played a test between the poms and kiwis on that day, my support would be 100% behind the sheepies)

TBH I don't know how sport of any kind (including Australian Football) is a celebration of ANZAC day. Tends to make uncomfortable comparisons about sacrifice and courage which glorifies sport and trivialises war, but that's another topic altogether.

But but but but but.

The Vfl does nothing to recognise the Kiwis involved in ANZAC day.

Well provide evidence of rl being played then and I will believe you. Providing sources to back up claims really isn't rocket science.

What do NZ do to acknowledge Australias involvement?

Using the name ANZAC acknowledges their involvement doesn't it?

Too find any of that stuff you'll probably need to look at the National Museums website or one of the Defence force sites out there. I know SF has or had heaps of images and newspaper articles on where RL was played.

I once came across some old form showing the Vfl playing in the Empire Games (pre commonwealth games) from South Africa in 189something at the National Museums site.

Play a game of footy against us as well as having Aussies marching in their Parades at home in NZ across the whole country from the cities to the rural communities. Most probably giving the diggers free transport to the pubs n clubs over there like they do out here.

It's not all one way.

As I've shown before, NZs official ANZAC website barely mentions Australia at all. There's no rule to say either country can't remember with their own events

I don't give a fuck what they mention you but but butting loon, you are just upset that your mob is finally reaping what it deserves from the rest of Australia (and NZ now) since they have tried to take over the ANZAC tradition.

If Vlad killed a person in front of the cameras, you'd back him you're that much of an imba, you have no brain in that empty vessel above your shoulders, you're a fucking disgrace actually.

"finally reaping what it deserves" ........... :-k

What? The AFL's ANZAC day game remains the most attended and watched ANZAC day game, AND home and away game, of any code in Australia. =D>

Man, the way the AFL has highjacked ANZAC day is pathetic.

It's not even about ANZAC day now, it's the ANZAC showdown or whatever the fuck you idiots call it.

Its an AFL game played which is the AFL's way of honoring the ANZACs. We cant help it if its become a massive event on its own.
