yet rated less than 20k for many live games during the year. The Lions and Suns rated 50-100k in a city half the size and for 2 teams near the bottom

the Swines averaged about 50K d head in 2012.... & they were in the top 4 for most of the year
& they averaged the same last year ...... on the main channel
this .. after 30 years of prime time coverage

the Storm averaged 35K in their first year of continuous coverage this year

The storm averaged 27k, and that was only due to a massive outlier. The majority of their ratings were 6-25k!

So the swans averaged over 3 times more!

Even the lowly lions rated 43k plus 20k for foxtel, for 63k. Double the storm in a city half the size, and for a team near bottom compared to premiers!

Just saw an AFL commercial, and channel 7 is advertising AFL on Channel 7 and 7Mate

Last year, they aired a promo which only showed 7mate, guess channel 7 is finally promoting AFL to it's main channel up here

You are indeed correct. Last season was our first exclusive to 7mate. Ratings were excellent for a secondary channel.

And they will only be on the up with more casual fans realising the football has shifted to 7mate. No doubt Sydney Foxtel numbers would tune into the Swans matches in big numbers as well, pity Foxtel hides ratings for capital cities.

Currently the Storm's ratings are lower than the Swans despite the Swans matches being simulcast live in HD and ad free on Foxtel. I'd say the Swans would easily be over 50,000 viewers in front of the Storm every match.
