Question?
Why are the players penalised when clubs rort the cap?
On the news last night it mentioned some AFL player (who played for the club that rorted the cap), and how had received a ban of something like 10 weeks? Why ?

Rugby League, the dominant force in Australian sport!

Well if he knew and has admitted it, why in the world did he only get 10 weeks? And I presume that involves Pre season kickabouts and Junkets eh, sooooo if those pre season games are added, does that mean he might only get a 6 week or so real suspension?
It's all very confusing.

What did the storm players get for signing two contracts?

Re: Question?
They got Stripped of two premierships

Re: Question?
They should never have won the second one since they had already been under investigation for over 6 months.Rabbit wrote:They got Stripped of two premierships

The salary cap cheating done by the Storm was exponentially higher than that done by the Crows with Tippett, hence the punishment should have been far worse. But the players should have been fined for their part in the entire fiasco at least.

Thnx, too me that is still not enough, 12 months min for this type of thing if it is proved you knew what was going on and decided to take your chance.
Piss weak suspension actually.
I'd give someone who didn't know what was going on that many weeks (11 weeks +PS) for being a dumbarse in the first place, the bloke who knows should be taken to the cleaners.
And I agree, the storm players got off while they let the club itself suffer.

Re: Question?
Tippett is acting like it is the Adelaide crows fault maybe he didnt realise that it was under the table or maybe the AFL is giving him some benifit of the doubt. Im not sure on this one. Either way he chose his manager poorly at the very least. Like you I am happy with the ban if it was just stupidity on his behalf and I feel a whole season would have been a good ban for deliberately being involved. I think the Crows themselves got a good kicking but their CEO should have been given a life ban along with Tippett's manager.ParraEelsNRL wrote:piesman2011 wrote:Banned all preseason + 11 games of the main season.ParraEelsNRL wrote:
