Was bound to happen given we have the worst stadium deal in the AFL. Our breakeven crowd is 28,000, the reason it's so high is so that the $NAFL can make all the cash off our gate takings so that they can fund their own league. No doubt shit performances and crowds have also had an effect on it as well, but getting a better stadium deal is vital.

Unfortunately we can't all have a breakeven crowd of just 10,000 like the Raiders do (who still operate at a loss each year regardless)

you got 2 Million from the SANFL .... & .... an extra 1 million from the VFL... they both just handed it over to help make ends meet
that all but rules out yr " so called " bad stadium deal

& yous still..... STILL .. went down the crapper .... by another 2 million plus 8-[
its astounding :-k

you bet a better stadium deal is vital .... it would need to be the best stadium deal in the history of stadium deals anywhere on earth
just to get you lot back to an even keel .. just to cover that years budget .... let alone even looking at the debts yr holding from previous years.
if it isn't ....
well its

   Thank you internet for giving ******* an opinion.

A large contribution to the loss is based on the poor stadium deal, then you have the bad crowds at AAMI as well as less corporate sponsors etc.

All of the above will be resolved come 2014. A city based stadium opens up a lot of new opportunities for the club.

Instead of having a break even crowd, an annual rent fee is much better as the club can budget for that. Writing a cheque to the $NAFL for every match that does not get 28k is a ridiculous system that pretty much sums up that organisation.

Your owners gave you money ... 2 Million
they made nothing out of owning you .... they lost

enough of the but butting

youz cannot go close to balancing yr budget .... not within cooee
a better stadium deal .... isn't going to cover a shortfall like this .... it is MASSIVE 8-[

you lot failed to get to 28K ... on 10 out of 11 home games in 2012
so wrote checks as you put it ... on 10 occasions
you lot averaged 19K

so on average ... you paid the SANFL for 9K people who didn't attend ... at say .. $20 a head
thats 180K a game

thats 1.8 Million for the season

again
the SANFL ... handed over every cent you paid them ..... BACK !!

& youz still lost between 2 & 4 Million dollars

enough of yr excuses
what really happened here Spewie ... its an utter cluster f.uck

what really happend ? :-k

It would be more than $20 a head dumbarse. The $NAFL also charges for the loss of catering revenue as well as car parking revenue from a shortfall in attendances.

If you could read you'd realise that I've already said that a better stadium deal won't completely wipe out the loss. A range of factors such like increased corporate revenue, crowds, memberships etc will.

Please become more educated on the subject at matter or STFU.

it wouldn't be any more then $20 , we know kids get into VFL games for $2 , its a nonsense to suggest its anymore then $20 & its probably less
so ...the fact is your deal with the SANFL is irrellevant & not the problem at all
as anything given to them ... they gave straight back.

fact is debt like this keeps clubs from being competitive
meaning crowds .. memberships & corporate revenue ... don't increase

just moving into a new stadium does not ensure success

do I need to get Port Plopelaide's CEO in contact with the Raiders CEO ... so he can show teach him how to run a succesful financially profitable organisation

spewie ..........?

Lol it wouldn't be anymore than $20 because of kids? you fucking moron! The cheapest ticket for an adult is over $27 ffs!
Memberships and corporate revenue will increase once the club moves to a world class stadium in the city.
Why should Port get in touch with the CEO of the club who has the lowest crowds in the nRL and can't even make money despite having a very good stadium deal which sees the club only need 10k to break even? Hopeless those arse Raiders are

their business arm is for what? Additional funds? Financial security? What do you think the AFL is for?

50% of the Raiders budget is handouts from the NRL and state government. Their earnings from attendance, memberships and sponsorship must be miniscule.
