Re: Tanking Continues To Be a Problem!
Many other folk believe that tanking continues to be an issue and provide solid arguments for this reasoning. Tanking has clearly been an issue in the AFL Xman. To say it and similar behaviour is not an issue because of a small change to the draft just dont cut the mustard.

Show me who thinks tanking is still an issue and why.....King-Eliagh wrote:Many other folk believe that tanking continues to be an issue and provide solid arguments for this reasoning. Oh Xman, do you ever wonder why folk feel the need to diss you in the FC? Read my signature. This has all been shown numerous times before on this site, through links and personal opinions supplied by both AFL and NRL supporters. Locate it and read it yourself!Xman wrote:Show me who thinks tanking is still an issue and why.....King-Eliagh wrote:Many other folk believe that tanking continues to be an issue and provide solid arguments for this reasoning. hahaha hehehe hohoohoo ooohhh hohohoh yeah so tell me are there RL clubs and competitions running in perth? Adelaide? NT? QLD? ViC? ACT? And from what I can see approx 300k viewers watched RL SOO 1 in 2012 across the NT, WA, SA, ACT, and Tassie. http://www.theroar.com.au/2012/05/24/st ... s-records/Stewie wrote:Xman's sig proves that you're a delusional half witKing-Eliagh wrote:Then you've seen less that what has been presented. ACT and NT moderately like nRL, so you can remove them from the list. Tasmania has no interest whatsoever but you already admit that so no problem there. But WA and SA, with a combined population of 3.5 million do not care for poor man's rugby. Sure there are some small rl comps for the NSW and QLD expats, but just look at how appalling regular season nRL games rate. As low as 2k in Perth and 0 in Adelaide. That's right, 0! Meaning less than 500 people on average watched it so it could not be rounded up to the nearest thousand. Crowds in Adelaide for one off nRL games are disgraceful, the last one couldn't even get 10,000 to it at Adelaide Oval.
You should try visiting these areas before commenting on how popular you think the bogan's version of real rugby is there.

I've visited both Perth and Adelaide. No there wasnt too many indicators there of RL's popularity but SOO suggests folk down your way like RL, even as a guilty pleasure.
I'd say there's clearly reasons why the 0 figure came up. Likely that the AFL local derby was on or some other big event. I'd like to hear the high figures in Adelaide and Perth. Or atleast the avg's to see just how popular RL is. But all the same it is popular, at least with many expats, as marngrook is in Sydney.

No. Many people watch SoO just because it's seen as an event. Most people who watch it wouldn't even like the sport of rl, otherwise they would also tune into the grand final which does not happen. SoO 3 was something like the 19th most watched program in Adelaide on Wednesday night and Channel 9 runs at a loss to show it, just as they do the grand final. This is why we do not see the pre game crap here as well as the post game... 9 don't want to run with the low rating league for too long here as it's not as popular as sitcoms like two and a half men etc.King-Eliagh wrote:I've visited both Perth and Adelaide.
