Yeah, the swans have done worse many many times in its 30 years of being shoved down our throat.

Good win for RL again in the ratings battle huh?

Is it a fact "everything" is more popular than the storm in Melbourne?

there'd be a long list of shows that drew less then 809K
like the Storm did in Melbourne for the NRL GF

starting with the swines effort in Sydney .... 605K

watching the GF, not the storm. If the storm were of interest theyd have managed more viewers than 10-20k for home and away games

no
watching the storm ... the usual audience in Melb for a GF without the storm in Melb is 300K

the Storm after just 1 year of regular broadcasts & zero $$ spent on their promotion .. are already averaging 30K on TV in melb for H&A games

the swines after 30 years of regular broadcasts & tens of millions of dollars of promotional advertising .. so ALL sydneysiders know when they can watch them
are averaging just 50K

Storm >>>>> Swines on the box

All Storm games were on Friday night with one getting a pathetic 10k. You once again conveniently ignore the fact that Sydney football fans can watch the Swans live in HD uninterupted on Foxtel instead of 7mate. Tens of thousands would be watching on Foxtel in Sydney given that Sydney has Australia's largest uptake of Foxtel subscribers.

Swans > Melbourne Yawn on the box and crowds and memberships etc

Swans are 59K + fox. For the second half of the season they averaged about 70K + fox (a sign that people were learning that it was on every week on 7mate). They probabaly were averaging 100-120K on TV for the second half of the year. 3 to 4 times the numbers of the Storm into Melbourne who apart from one outlier averaged about 20K going into the finals to win another GF. But having said that 4 games for the storm on FTA is not really statistically significant. About 1 in 30 Sydney people (if you count the crowd as well) were watching the Swans most weeks. Compare this with the Storm who were 1 in 100.

memberships are gunna be interesting
we all know the swines only have about 15K odd members in Sydney , the rest from outside it in the Riverina & Melbourne mainly
that may increase a bit next year being the premiers

the Storm are on track for around 20K members in 2013.... up to 8500 already ... going at ova a 1000 a week
& 90% of their members will reside in Melbourne

wow .. who'd a thunk it
