Re: League fans dominating
And being a Vfl fan, I bet you give the swans all those ratings on PTV as well as the fta, thus the swans having 230k all up in Sydney huh?

You'd be wrong. 55k on FTA, 5-10k on 1 hd, and maybe 30k on fox.ParraEelsNRL wrote:And being a Vfl fan, I bet you give the swans all those ratings on PTV as well as the fta, thus the swans having 230k all up in Sydney huh?
Even this year the swans were getting 40-80k on a secondary digital channel, with most games on the arvo, and against foxtel for the same and other games. Compare that to NRL on Sunday arvo, against no other game, with averages of around 300k in Sydney on the primary channel.
That indicates the AFL is FAR more popular in Sydney that you guys suggest.

Your data for 2011 is not quite correct Dave you are not adding the numbers together correctly for some rounds. Also rounds 10 and 11 was only on 1HD.Raiderdave wrote:oh what F'ing snotXman wrote:On the main digital channel the Swans were getting 100k for day games which is 1/3rd of the NRL games on Sunday in Sydney. the swines used to get only about 150K in finals .. when they were on the main channel
they got their ... maximum non GF audience for the prelim this year
thats about as high as it goes for the Victorian game in Sydney outside a GF
it outrated the rubbish on the main channel on 7.... because 600K were watching the NRL on 9
Ch 7 in Sydney for the Swines prelim... got it dead right
Id suggest thats pretty good. If there are 1 million NRL supporters in Sydney then that suggests there are 333k AFL supporters =D> =D> =D>![]()

Swines 2011 ratings on the main channel
http://www.talkingfooty.com/tv_ratings_2011.php
rnd 1..70,000
rnd 2...66,000
rnd 3...55,000
rnd 4... 59,000
rnd 6... 27,000
rnd 7.... too low to rate !!
rnd 8...57,000
rnd 9...49,000
rnd 10...11,000
rnd 11...13,000
rnd 12...71,000
should I go on ?
the next 12 rounds are pretty similar to the first 12
biggest audience
100K V collingwood in rnd 14 ( a night game ) ...... so thats 100K...... ONCE all up & NONE during the day ... not regularly as you suggested you lying bag of shite
again
I've proven the swines get the same FTA audience regardless
they have a max
its 150K approx
for the amount of primetime coverage they received ova the last 30 years
thats pathetic![]()

2011 Swans viewers in Sydney
round 1: c7: 70,000
rnd 2 c7: 66,000
rnd 3 c10: 55,000
rnd 4... c 10 59,000 + 1HD 9000 = 68,000
round 6: 10 + 1HD: 27000+18000 = 45,000
round 10: 1HD secondary channel only :11,000
round 11: 1HD only: 13000
round 12: C7 : 71,000
So they were not on the main channel when the ratings were about 11-13 K. So what happend to the viewers in round 10 and 11? They didnt realise it was on only 1HD. What happened to the NRL on friday night when the oympics were on and it was only on gem? The ratings went right down. In 2011 I would suggested that Stewie was probabaly right and this is showed by the major drop off in the ratings when it was only shown on 1HD. However I am agreeing with you Dave for 2012 because now everyone knows it in on 7mate every week and the averages if anything have gone up because if it being on the one channel.
2011 average (just your data only using the main channel viewers average in Sydney 61K.
here is the 2012 data for Syd Swans televised into Sydney number of viewers;
round 1: 82,000 + fox
round 2: 30,000 + fox
round 3: 46,000 + fox
round 4: 50,000 + fox
round 5: 61,000 + fox
round 6: unknown + fox
round 7: 46,000 + fox
round 8: 49,000 + fox
round 9: 55,000 + fox
round 10: 44,000 + fox
round 11: (not known 103,000 for Sydney + brisbane) + fox
round 12: bye
round 13: 58,000 + fox
round 14: 64,000 + fox
round 15: unknown + fox
round 16: 64,000 + fox
round 17: 72,000 + fox
round 18: unknown + fox
round 19: 73,000 + fox
round 20: 55,000 + fox
round 21: 66,000 + fox
round 22: 85,000 + fox
round 23: unknown + fox
Average 59 + fox.
I would say they average between 80 and 100K every week into Sydney with those numbers.

Is it a fact "everything" is more popular than NRL in WA, SA and TAS?
Is it a fact that cooking shows, talent quests, and singing shows are more popular than NRL in Sydney and Brisbane?

Settle down and stop it! You're spouting lies and infactual shmack all over these pages again. Reece Witherspoon movies do outrate the swannies as far as i know. "Everything" doesnt outrate the storm.
And in any case the poor little storm are mini compared to the swans in terms of funding and years in the city. The storm are doing well.

Theyre bank rolled by News Ltd and the NRL.King-Eliagh wrote:Settle down and stop it! You're spouting lies and infactual shmack all over these pages again. Reece Witherspoon movies do outrate the swannies as far as i know. "Everything" doesnt outrate the storm.

They rate in the 10-20ks for live prime time games. Please show me other prime time games that rate less than that in Melbourne..
NRL in Perth and Adelaide is even worse, rating at 0-3k

NRL in Sydney is regularly outrated by other prime time shows like cooking, singing, dancing etc...

What, youd be happy if the storm beat a 1950's movie shown at 4am?

Desperate much?

I can only see the Storm on 4 times this year on Gem I believe into Melbourne. All of them are Friday night games. These ratings are not really statistically significant due to it being a sample of 4
They rated
round 5: 26,000
round 12: 77,000
round 23: 10,000
round 24: 18,000
average: 33K
