it has now. Raiders, 1 FTA game in the first 20 rounds! Didnt they make the finals last year?ParraEelsNRL wrote:They had 17 this or last year didn't they?![]()
Has the NRL draw even been announced yet?

They had a good season this year, did they not? What makes you think anything will change come the last 6 games with the nRL scheduling? AFL fans would be up in arms if Collingwood got 17 Friday night games and a team that finished above them on the ladder only had 1 game on FTA. We don't accept that shit though like nRL fans do.ParraEelsNRL wrote:Don't be so quick to jump guys, if the Raiders are having a good season, ch 9 still has the last 6 rounds leading into the finals, open.

As would the AFL. Ch9 screwing with the NRL and its fans all for ratings. Yet the AFL still win, plus they sold their rights for more.Stewie wrote:They had a good season this year, did they not? http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/nrl/t ... 6522882639It would if the broadcasters, and that means Channel Nine who have their Sydney and Brisbane blinkers on didn't still have an inordinate amount of say in who plays where and when, and the NRL administration didn't break its back bending over to accommodate them.
It's staggering to think that the best team in rugby league will feature in the prime TV slot just twice in the opening 20 rounds.
Looks like the raiders are furious about their treatment from the NRL and ch9“It is disappointing for our fans, our sponsors and our players,” Furner told AAP.
“I think there are a lot of teams who aren’t as attractive to watch as us that are getting a lot more games on Channel Nine.
“We have some of the most exciting players in the competition, Josh Dugan, Blake Ferguson, Terry Campese … I have been banging on about it for years and I will keep banging on about it but I just don’t know what we have to do.
“Channel Nine games are a big deal for us, the players love to play in them … it is a pity.”
Furner said the raiders were one of the highest rating sides on Fox Sports but remain shunned by the free-to-air broadcaster.
“I understand Nine have paid a lot of money for the rights, and it is a great deal for the code. But I can’t understand why there can’t be a more even spread of games,” he said.
“I have been in constant contact with the NRL in regard to this and they are sympathetic to our requests but they just can’t seem to get them across the line.
“We are in battle down here against the AFL and we need all the help we can get.
“We just have to use it as motivation to win games to put us in a position to get free-to-air coverage in the last six rounds and to qualify for the finals where of course every game is on Channel Nine.”
Wests Tigers captain Robbie Farah was another to vent his anger over the draw.
“No Sunday afternoon game at Leichhardt. #Speechless”, he tweeted.
It has nothing to do with luck you fool. Teams who perform well get more prime time games. Plus these 5 play prime time Saturday.pussycat wrote:And only the lucky 13 get a Friday night game in AFL.

What a joke!![]()
Their not banned from ch7. The agreement was to show AFL on 7mate to qld and nsw, just like NRl is on gem to AFL states.pussycat wrote:Form, Didnt I tell you that.
Poor Suns and GWS banned from being shown Ch7 in there own state for 5 years, While West Coast is shown every week in theressomething has to be wrong here.
Its a commercial reality is it? No, its an nRL reality. They get shocking FTa coverage and basically sellout to CH9 for top dollar. The AFL could have got heaps more if they had have demanded west coast, crows, Collingwood and Essendon were shown every prime time game. They didnt and settled for less money for the good of their game.Raiderdave wrote:Xman wrote:it has now. Raiders, 1 FTA game in the first 20 rounds! What a joke!![]()
and this is a surprise how exactly ?![]()
its a commercial reality even our CEO has admitted is "understandable "
the Raiders would obviously like more games on FTA
but will be content counting their millions in profits from their other business activities to help them sleep at night
meanwhile
port crapelaide .. with 22 FTA games & many other VFL clubs .. like the wions
will be crying themselves to sleep at night , wondering where their next penny will be coming from![]()
