If the wions lost that much, it makes you wonder what the real figure is for the GC Gazas seeing as they are not as supported as the paddle pop wions

Yes the Lions have made mistakes over the past few years but they will learn from them which will make them a better team in the future.

Other years there has been bad crowds though cause we have not been winning or playing good football. Once this starts again the crowds will start & the money will pour in
they represent only a fraction of any clubs overall turnover
if the paddle pop wions had played ok this year & won a few more games & increased their crowds by 50% to 30,000 this year ( so an extra 10K a game )
they'd still have posted a 1 million dollar plus ... LOSS
its proof definitive.... despite Xmans attempts at finance 101 from lar lar land... that revenue results are not the issue for football clubs
its this .. up against costs
if your costs are out of control , if you can't manage them... like most VFL clubs are experiencing ... its troubled times ahead
troubled indeed
10000 more to brisbane games at on average 20 dollars a ticket (some are more expensive some are cheaper) X 11 games = about 2.2 million dollars. Not to mention the sales on more food (not sure if brisbane would get money from this) and merchandise. So that pretty much cancels out all of the debt. With AFL membership and ticket sale use to make the same amount of money as the last TV deal. Now it would be behind by quite a bit but it would still make up I estimate about 25% of the AFL revenue.

but haven't been able to pay off any of the interest on the 10 million debt
so it grows by 600K .. to 10.6 Million

& anyway
theres no way an average ticket costs $20.... it would barely be $15

Don't you think their annual report would include interest payments Dave?Raiderdave wrote:oh............. so they finish even .. to a small losspiesman2011 wrote:Raiderdave wrote:when will you singlet wearing merkins realise ... crowds are not everything

$15 per ticket?

Plus they've dropped membership compared to their successful seasons. So a combination of gate receipts and memberships would easily account for their loss.

We should be all good next year, with our membership figures ahead of last year figures and a possible finals birth we will be booming

Re: Wions post 5th consectutive loss
Fuck me why do you give this picture book fan oxygen.Lions turned over 43 million dave dwarfing 80 percent of Nrl clubs. Its about revenue dave.If you knew anything youd know its harder to raise it than save it. Just look at the size of AFL staffing numbers and the facilities the players use.The more non profit orgs make they spend.Do you think the extra money NRL clubs will get will be banked. No dave theyll spend it on making the team better thats what they do.And on that how is the commision going. No draw,no ceo no eba for players, cant sell digital rights no deal for NZ what an incompetent bunch of flogs lol.Now i know youll come back with lies and pictures thats expeceted from the prepubescent. Not sure if you can read dave because after reading about canberras finances you can see that they as an org are 19 million in the hole.Oh and your pokies are about to be smashed.Ya killing them dave.Oh by the way that book your reading Ill save you the suspense the little red caboose gets over the hill dave.Raiderdave wrote:oh............. so they finish even .. to a small losspiesman2011 wrote:Raiderdave wrote:when will you singlet wearing merkins realise ... crowds are not everything
