You mean like the long list of retailers who sell Nike etc, plus all the people who buy their products?King-Eliagh wrote:Jesus Xman, i think its time you have a think about the orgs you're working for. Striker is right, come join us in the 21st century and leave these bogus orgs, which will undoubtably bring you down at some point.

All of them. If they are serious about business in the 21st century that is. And if your company didn't find out about the new owner's practices then there was no due diligence.Xman wrote:good luck with that!Striker wrote:Then your employer is not engaging in best business practice. If I find out who it is I'll avoid them if I can until they catch up with 21st century business.Xman wrote:well I work too you know.![]()
And I know for certainty that my employer doesnt know exactly where each of our suppliers manufacture their products, let alone check this repeatedly.![]()
Anyway, a few years ago i worked for a business that was taken over by another. Even their due diligence didnt find out all details about the companies practices. How many businesses would do this annually for every contractor?
The Nrl is held together by pokies revenue. You can smell the fear when we talk pokies reform. LolStriker wrote:One beer company (Queensland's home brew) and one gambling organisation. BULL! You show me a Storm balance sheet that relies on pokies! You show me a Leagues Club that relies on pokies to make money!pookus wrote:The Nrl is held together by pokies revenue. They sponsor the team! The Broncos take money from Nike in return for giving them exposure! They know exactly what Nike does, everyone knows, yet they continue to take the as a major sponsor. At least the AAFL dumped Sherrin once they found out. The NRL continue to support Nike!Striker wrote:BULL! You show me a Storm balance sheet that relies on pokies! X, we can't stop players from buying the stupid things! If we could we would and there wouldn't be a problem!
Both the AFL and more so the NRL have issues with a reliance on poker machine revenue. Even the Storm with sponsership comming from crown get money indirrectly from poker machines or do you think that accepting money from crown has nothing to do with poker machines??Striker wrote:BULL! WE'VE GOT NO CHOICE!!!! Players buy the things, so Nike had them over a barrel. We couldn't stop them from buying the things so the players had the Bronco's over a barrel. And the rest of the NRL! Now if we can just get people to games we'd be able to compete better and get players to stop doing that and start buying Adidas and whatever else so we can finally do something about it!Xman wrote:They sponsor the team! Shame NRL shame!
What are you talking about? They sponsor the Broncos, the NRLs richest team! If the NRL had the balls they would tell Nike to take their sponsorship and shove it! Surely a team with 2million heartland population can get another sponsor.Striker wrote:WE'VE GOT NO CHOICE!!!! Players buy the things, so Nike had them over a barrel. The AFL has a choice, but it took them two years to do something about it!
