AFL Grand Final - highest rating sports broadcast in Australia and it wasn't even in prime time. The potential ratings that it could get if it were shown in prime time is massive and would only further itself away from the small pommy code.

I agree, i dunno why, but when ever i watch the nrl the first thing that comes to my mind is budget, the game looks so cheap.Stewie wrote:AFL Grand Final - highest rating sports broadcast in Australia and it wasn't even in prime time. Who could blame you, after all most of the time they're playing out of empty suburban grounds.QueenslandISAFL wrote:I agree, i dunno why, but when ever i watch the nrl the first thing that comes to my mind is budget, the game looks so cheap.Stewie wrote:AFL Grand Final - highest rating sports broadcast in Australia and it wasn't even in prime time. If I was Andrew D Id be more than a bit worried, The AFL Grand Final was about as good as it gets. On the other hand the NRL Grand Final, as a spectacle was only fair. Yet the AFL numbers wern't that much higher. But what would be worrying me most would be the fact that, were the ones spending 100's of $millions trying to make inroads into Sydney and there pulling 800k in Melbourne. ..... Worrying times indeed fo the GayFL

I had to check what all fuss was about once I heard that the ******** nRL fans began using NZ figures to compete with the AFL. Openly admitting that AFL is bigger than the nRL in Australia are they? Well we all already knew that.Xman wrote:Welcome Stewie! Love your work on bf!Stewie wrote:AFL Grand Final - highest rating sports broadcast in Australia and it wasn't even in prime time. The nrl game was in primetime, that's the difference and there was absolutely nothing to watch.pussycat wrote:If I was Andrew D Id be more than a bit worried, The AFL Grand Final was about as good as it gets. Not really you idiot. The fact that the AFL was a great spectacle (as usual) means that people will more likely tune in again. The nRL being dull (as usual) will probably turn people away from it. And finally, throw the AFL into prime time and see it rate its tits off.pussycat wrote:If I was Andrew D Id be more than a bit worried, The AFL Grand Final was about as good as it gets. As I said to dopey Dave, you do realise the NRL in prime time rates almost double what it does in the afternoon?pussycat wrote:If I was Andrew D Id be more than a bit worried, The AFL Grand Final was about as good as it gets. The SANFL preliminary final was on here, so I watched that. It only cut into 1 hour of the nRL gf though, and only rated 5k less. The grand final next week should comfortably smash what the nRL got in Adelaide just like it does every other year.QueenslandISAFL wrote:The nrl game was in primetime, that's the difference and there was absolutely nothing to watch.pussycat wrote:If I was Andrew D Id be more than a bit worried, The AFL Grand Final was about as good as it gets. Last time I checked this thread was about AFL v NRL, So I see no problem includinng all markets. And I take great satisfaction in telling you that we kicked your butt - once again!
