as we know ... the VFL brand is being destroyed by the midgits & thuns
the game is shrinking due to their involvment .. not growing .... it is a calamity & it may be a long time if ever .. before the VFL recovers.

The increase is 10 or 11% , and thats for a series growing like wilflowers , chock a block full of interest as NSW searches for a series win.

The AFL's final series doubles that (25% with foxtels regionals). And it certainly isn't growing like wildflowers.

2011 AFL Final Series(1st) = 3929K
2012..............4906k

An increase of 977 or 24.87% and Foxtels regionals wouldn't be 500k max.

This is just your opinion. I could say that SOO has reached its satuation point and that AFL is growing like wildfire in NSW/Qld. I could also say that most of the growth experienced in SOO has been due to it being shown live in Vic and that is hasn't really experienced any growth in NSW/Qld for while now. It wouldn't make it true though.

I just looked at this years finals week 1 which was about 4.9 million compared with last year at 3.9 million. About 350K + from this year would have been regional foxtel numbers. So thats about 4.55 million compared to 3.9 million or a about 16% increase. Come on mate your stats are poor on this one.
hmmmmm

rubbish ....

How are they wrong? Why couldn't it be that the AFLs market was under counted in previous years and because evening games were shown delayed and late at night, and even after the game was finished to Perth?

So what would you consider to be the real AFL figures? No change from last year? Exclude foxtel completely? Exclude concurrent games? Anything to make your code win? :-k

Eels showed a thinktv report claiming the NRLs Friday game won the ratings. Are these the reports we should be using? Interesting how it claimed the AFLs regional figures were 6% viewership when the metro was 13%. If you're claiming these are the true figures you're the deluded one.

but but but

just suck it up
we're not delusional so won't swallow this utter BS being served up by the VFL
but
you believe what you want

K

Keep wearing your tin hat then. These are figured produced by Oztam and have always been fine before. Theres no real point in arguing with someone who wont believe independently sourced figures.

So first it was "admitted" we exist. Then it was "admitted" we were the most popular north of the Murray. Then it was "admitted" that SOO was big. Now it is "admitted' we(NRL) are catching up. The anguish this must cause as slowly but surely reality starts to sink in.

No anguish mate. Least we all know who is number one. The future as always is vast and still to happen. Live in the now number 2. Didn't your commish tell you yesterday how far behind you are. You mustn't have been listening.

A new "admission" we are number 2 - from non existence to number two in the "great AFL world". Only thing the NRL is behind on is turning its popularity into revenue streams although a certain TV deal fixed part of that as did new revenue streams for clubs like Cronulla and Newcastle.

See the mob that had the highest independently tallied and audited TV ratings last year - let me think who was number 2 - that's right AFL world,so not really number 2. Actually I think they won that by around 10m and that wasn't the whole NRL just the 15 Oz teams. When you look at the whole comp golly gee they won by 20m.

Not this year number 2. As I always say money talks and bullshit walks. You do realise collingwood will turnover more than 90 million this year. Your a long way behind still. We might be looking over our shoulder but your still looking at our arse. Lol

What?

Your number two in crowds, revenue, memberships, ratings, media interest and national coverage, and most by a long long way.

When it comes to independent collation of TV results the NRL has won the last three years and the gap got bigger each year. The numbers published on this esteemed site showed AFL "winning" last year only problem was the real world gave the result to the NRL - comfortably. The numbers published on this site represent but a fraction of the NRL audience which has grown significantly year on year for 5 years. So the AFL with its extra game and more coverage may get the cumulative nod this year but it wont be based on numbers from this site. They might beat NRLs last years figures but then again so will the NRL.
