NRL Rd 14 - Massive Drop In Crowds

Post by Beaussie »

Wests Tigers vs Cronulla - 17,570 (Campbelltown Stadium)
Canberra vs Brisbane - 8,609 (Canberra Stadium)
Souths vs Manly - 8,900 (Aussie Stadium)
Newcastle vs Parramatta - 15,842 (Energy Aust. Stadium)
NZ Warriors vs Melbourne - 7,898 (Erricson Stadium)
St George/Illaw. vs Nth QLD - 15,260 (OKI Jubilee)

Total - 74,079
Average - 12,347

Looks like the NRL crowd average has dropped dramatically this week. The lowest to date in season 05 in fact.

The Kangaroos in the AFL, who aren't even a Canberra based team get bigger crowds than the Raiders.

And where were the supporters for the so-called pride of the league? A convincing win against a top 8 team and yet a mere 8,000 odd bother turning up.

Beaussie the queens birthday long weekend is traditionally a low crowds weekend for the NRL. Based on figures from hutchins and Hutchings statistics approx 60% of sydneysiders and canberrans go on a short vacation over this weekend and hence the smaller crowds.

Hope this clears things up.

Then that must mean that these NRL crowds go on holidays every weekend!
