10 years is a long time KE. Could it be that the NRL has remained a bogan sport and ARs has evolved? Either way the NRL crowds have behaved far worse over the last 10 years!King-Eliagh wrote:10 years sample or 100 year sample. Which is more valid Xman?![]()

It's about growth KE. The AFL crowds are evolving away from poor behaviour, but it clearly is still a big issue for the NRL who are clearly still a bogan uneducated lot. This can be seen by their racist behaviour on mass this year.King-Eliagh wrote:A long time compared to 100 years?Xman wrote:10 years is a long time KE. I have never seriously suggest that there is more passion in the AR in the RL.
When examining Retro leather shoulder bags at your nearby department, you are probably going to notice a large difference in Leather double handle briefcase.

Latest news in folks. Carlton fans strangle young child supporting richmond.
When will these fans learn that passion mixed with violence is fine on the field, not off it!
A 12-year-old boy was grabbed around the neck and verbally abused by a foul-mouthed football fan as the boy celebrated his team hitting the lead at the MCG on the weekend.
Police confirmed this morning that they are investigating the incident, which happened during Saturday night's clash between Richmond and Carlton.
The sad thing about it is he said, 'Look, I don't think I want to go and watch another match', and all that he wanted to do was watch his favourite player.
Dina Stephens said her son Marcus jumped up in excitement when the Tigers hit the lead in the final quarter but was quickly grabbed around the neck by a Carlton supporter, believed to be in his late 30s or early 40s, who pushed him back into his seat.

Re: Which sports fans are the worst?
When the person sitting in front of you is constantly jumping out of his/her seat at the footy and you cant see what is happening then this can get frustrating. The Carlton supporter just wanted to see the football and pushed the Richmond supporter down into his seat. The Carlton supporter did the wrong thing and you should never put your hands on anyone at the football especially kids, however I understand the frustration. Thats my take on what probabaly happened. The fact that the victim acknowleges that he was pushed down into his seat is the give away about what the Carlton supporter was trying to achieve.

Now that is terrible, this sort of behavior from anybody is just disgraceful.King-Eliagh wrote:Latest news in folks. Carlton fans strangle young child supporting richmond. When will these fans learn that passion mixed with violence is fine on the field, not off it!

As opposed to the racial abuse by an entire group at the NRL SOO that offended a large number of indigenous fans?eelofwest wrote:Now that is terrible, this sort of behavior from anybody is just disgraceful.King-Eliagh wrote:Latest news in folks. Re: Which sports fans are the worst?
Racism and strangulation are comparable and it was terrible to see those racists in the RL crowd, unfortunately there's racists everywhere, its connected with poor education.
Children stranglers are a rarer breed and just as bad imo. What we need to remember in all this though folks is the wikipedia link i provided a few pages back. The AFL has approx 7 nasty crowd incidents to the NRLs 1.
Nuff said.

No, not "nuff said". That listing is biased towards media coverage leading to sourcing that suits Wikipedia. Besides, where's the NRL's effort to educate? The AFL's is prominent and then some. The NRL don't give a stuff - and neither do you.

I may have missed it but is there mention of strangulation? I noticed that the term used was:
grabbed around the neck
This could have been a push down on the back of the sholders which may have come in contact with the neck, but you cant really say that that is strangulation (unless there is more information that I have not seen). Innocent until proven guilty. Personally I think the Carlton supporter should cop a fine maybe 100 dollars for putting his hands on someone, however I think unless I see some more information saying that he stranglled the kid rather then just pushing him back into his seat, I dont think there is to much in this.

Yes pies strangulation may well have been his intention, but we just dont know for sure at this point. One thing we do know for sure though is it was abuse. I agree, yes fine the bastard for abusing a 12 year old.
