I personally think that the NRL will really start to develop a lot more talent from Southern states and from PNG after this TV deal. PNG has a huge talent pool just waiting for a few NRL accadamies to set up camp . At the moment they dont have a huge amount of money for scouts and recruiters, while the AFL does. A big advantage for NRL is the cross over skills from union I feel this really widens the pool of talent in NZ in particular. RL is starting to get big in NZ and could turn the all blacks into a B grade side like the Wallabies in 10 years time.

NRL players removed / ?
Justin Poore (WA) Spent his school years in NSW played for NSW SOO
Bryson Goodwin (WA) Born in Sydney played for Cronulla as a junior
Matt Groat Rankins (riverina) I believe that this is still NSW.
Neville Costigan Rabaul (PNG) He moved with his parents to Queensland at a very young age
James Segeyaro Goroka (PNG) although I think you already removed him
Petero Civoniceva (Fiji) moved to Qld at age 1
Akuila Uate (Fiji) attended Brisbane Waters Senior College and represented Australia and schoolboy level in 2005.[2] As a junior, Uate came 3rd in the underage Australian sprinting finals.
Willie Tonga (ACT) Showing a talent at a young age while living in Peak Hill, New South Wales and the family finally settled in Cherbourg, Queensland.

AFL players removed / ?
3. Lachlan Keefe (Qld) There is no evidence of keefe playing in QLD, he was born there but no evidence of him staying there.
28. Sam Mitchell (Qld) you mean Sam Michael?
52. Josh bruce (ACT) actually played in the SAFL before playing in the ACT.
75. Nick Riewoldt (Qld) Have to take this out, he grew up in Tassie till he was 9 years of age, he had been exposed to AFL by 9 years of age no doubt about it.
79. Ahmed Saad (Egypt) his first exposure to AFL was in Vic, he never played AFL in Egypt.
80. Justin Koschitzke (NSW) Murray Bushrangers, Wangaratta is a cathedral city of almost 17,000 people in the northeast of Victoria, Australia,
93. Dylan McNeil (NSW) Murray Bushrangers, Wangaratta is a cathedral city of almost 17,000 people in the northeast of Victoria, Australia,
94. Nic Naitanui (Fiji) Grew up in Midvale, Midvale is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located mostly within the City of Swan
96. Daniel Cross (NSW) Murray Bushrangers, Wangaratta is a cathedral city of almost 17,000 people in the northeast of Victoria, Australia,
93. Ryan Hooper (Qld) there is only one Ryan on the team and that is Ryan Schoenmakers, who played for Norwood Football Club, Australian rules football club belonging to the South Australian National Football League in the state of South Australia

Okay the AFL has 96 players playing outside its heartlands out of a possible 900 players squads of 50 for all clubs.
So %9 of the players in the AFL come from outside its heartland.

So out of a possible 480 players on the NRL squads of 30 we have 104 players that grew up playing outside NSW, QLD.
That is almost %25 of players not from the traditional area’s of NSW, QLD that play in the NRL =D> =D>

I completely agree with most of what you say except about the part about the Kiwi's making the All Blacks look like a b grade side...

The all Blacks will always be the apple in New Zealand's Eye, the Kiwi's are aiming at being held in that regard into the future. ATM the Kiwi's NZRL are doing good things for the People of Auckland but still have a long way to go before they are held up high like the All Blacks.

Not to mention Rugby in Aus is vastly different to NZ Rugby. Aus rugby is boring as hell win at any cost attitude, NZ rugby is entertaining and there Super Teams are playing a enterprising fun style of rugby.

Yes if the NRL get anything over 1billion for the TV deal the Salary Cap will eventuate at somewhere in between 6million - 6.5million in 2014/2015. That sort of money is huge for a 13man code and will certainly make more southerners/Kiwi's join RL in the near future. Lets not forget our Westerners, mainly the juniors starting to come through the WARL SG ball teams and Toyota Cup teams.

The Murry Bushrangers have players across both borders:

Justin Koschitzke born Albury (NSW) junior team Brocklesby, New South Wales. Cant be more clear cut then that

Daniel Cross Recruited from: Albury (NSW)
http://www.westernbulldogs.com.au/playe ... fault.aspx
Dylan McNeil NSW captain for division 2
Terrific kid whose done just about everything in the last two seasons - NSW Captain, Harrison Medallist in Div 2, TAC Team of the Year, All Australian, been to two Draft Camps...
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/d ... il.646192/

Lachlan Keeffe, like Jake Orreal, is the amazing AFL story waiting to happen. A Gympie teenager who had never played an unofficial AFL game until October 2007, was signed by AFL club Collingwood less than two months later. The then 202cm 17-year-old, who had excelled in soccer, middle-distance running and cricket,

You are correct on Josh bruce

Ahmed Saad didn't come to Australia until 15. This could mean that all of the rugby union players from other countries could be counted out for RL would that be cool

Nic Naitanui did move to Australia at an early age. that is true

Hooper quit the Lions in early 2011 my bad on that one.

There are other Murry Bushrangers who are from NSW but it is tough to find out which side of the border they came from.

Sam Michael (QLD) is different to sam Mitchell(Vic). The first is almost unknown and the second is a premiership Captain.

yeah Im bad I ment Sam Michael

Majak Daw (Sudan) would be another one who came to Australia late but I believe played all of his football in AFL states. He would be similar to Ahmed Saad.

Seems the nrl just relies on New Zealanders for their tinpot competition, whereas the AFL attracts players from all over the world. AFL is truly a multi-racial and mulit-cultural sport!

NRL miles ahead, more multicultural by a country mile.

NRL 24% players from outside its heartlands. =D>

AFL 9% players from outside its heartlands.

If the nrl think the meaning of multi-cultural is just having players from the Pacific Islands then you lot need a geography lesson as to the rest of the world

You know i can do a list of all ethnic players playing in the NRL.

This list will take some time to make, estimate about 60% players with different ethnic backgrounds.

Sorry, I don't live in a cul de sac so if you come near my neighbourhood, just be careful of getting lost when there ends up being more than one entrance to my street. It's not one dimensional like your game where running in circles is a requirement.
