In the AFL the 9th placed Nth Melbourne are in some good form beating just about all before them over the last few weeks. The 7th place Cats could do anything and beat anyone with a little form. You could say that any of the top 9 at the moment could win the AFL flag as well. If you look at the NRL ladders the 9th placed warriors are 4 wins behind first place with the top 2 on the same points. If you look at the AFL ladder the 9th placed Nth Melbourne are 4 wins behind 1st place with the top 3 all on the same points. If anything the AFL ladder is closer together with the same amount of rounds of the season to go. However overall no real difference.
There are 3 sides in the AFL that make Parramatta Eels look like world beaters......

Yes no real difference i see what your saying there Pies.... :D
You are correct because the Parramatta Eels on 3 wins after 17 rounds is so much better then Melbourne on 2 wins after 15 rounds. Not that I was referring to the bottom end. I was referring to your statement that there were 9 teams in the NRL who could win the competition and that the AFL competition didn't have as many. I just pointed out to everyone that the 9th place teams in both competition were both 4 wins from the top of the ladder, making your statement look a little silly.
There are 9 teams in the NRL atm that can take the Premiership, in your opinion Pies how many can win the Flag in the AFL atm?
Also the bottom of the table of the NRL and AFL are totally different, Parra are a side that cant play for the whole 80 mins but when they do they get the W or close to it. The GWS SUNS DEMONS and to a lesser extent Port or just plain getting spanked every week by big margins.

15 Panthers 4 13 0 2 -138 12 Terrible
16 Eels 3 14 0 2 -197 10 Terrible but still a team of stars when you compare it to the GWS, SUNS, DEM outfits...
So my point is that the Bottom NRL teams can win on there day but in the AFL the bottom sides GWS,GCS,DEM,PORT are just plain incompetent. There are 9 teams that can win the Premiership in total imo, the AFL have 6 at best. Take into account that there are teams that just get blown of the park before a ball has been bounced then its quite clear to anyone with half a brain which code has the more competitive competition. :D
