Thugby is about "contested posession"? Posession of what? The body? That's sick!

Xman said "contested posession", idiot! You tried to twist that around, and I called it the way you were making it look!

Yes and in RL, which you and Xman have little clue about, each time a player runs up he is involved in a physical contest while he possesses the ball. Xman is insinuating that RL has no or little contested possessions. I say it does, the contest is just a different one, more physical.

You gottit yet TLPG?

No, because you don't know what you're talking about. The object of thugby is the man. The object of footy is the ball.

Simple!

Ahh, duhh. so can you explain why Xman is insinuating that
RL sadly lacks because the majority of their possessions are uncontested
when in fact almost every possession in RL is contested?

I know its all a bit complex for you TLPG but do try hard. :) I'll give you a hint, Xman has previously admitted he knows nothing about RL and you're pretty much on a par with him.

No I agreed with what you said. I said "ahh duhhh", meaning ahh yeah who doesnt know that TLPG.

Now stop being so cranky and get with the program. Xman is clueless about possession and contests in RL, all he and you have to go by is your knowledge of your own game which makes your arguments narrow and pathetic, completely unable to acknowledge half of what you are arguing about. Simpletons is too kind a description of the pair of you. [-(

I think what they are trying to say is that there is no contest to win the ball in RL (apart from the occasional short kick where the game resembles AR). Because at the end of the day after the tackle in RL. The player with the ball just rolls it under his foot and a team mate picks it up, with no contest for control of the ball. Both games are similar when someone already has the ball. In other words you try to tackle the player with the ball. I understand you saying that every possession in RL is a contest. This goes without saying. However what the AR supporters are saying is the ball itself is almost never involved in a contest to win it.

Fair point piesman but where RL has less contested possessions of the ball it has more of a contest when team members are in possession whereas in marngrook it is far less likely to see a tackle. What I'm getting at is Xman's argument is pointless because it is akin to saying "yeah well in basketball you shoot more goals and you can get three points for a goal whereas in RL they barely ever shoot for goal and they only get 2 points".

His argument is a child's argument, lacking in understanding of organised sport and lacking in intellect.

No, your argument is a desperate attempt to hide the fact that thugby is all about knocking the stuffing out of an opponent. THAT is lacking in intellect, and don't tell any of us you understand organised sport! You wouldn't know organisation from a bar of soap! You've already proven that time and time again with your stupid commentary.

You see tackling in football. The legality thereof makes it a higher skill than thugby. But the ball is the primary object and that's why mine and Xman's argument is completely valid and yours is not. That is the true definition of contested posession - of which thugby has virtually none - the only time is when Pie noted it, off a kick and even then it's just a kick and hope and NEVER to a contest because of thugby's offside rule. Unless it's good and high and gives time for an attacking team to make the contest. No need for that in footy. A kick and hope is a bad move in our great game.

Stop talking about stuff you clearly don't understand, KE.

RL is often about knockin the stuffing out of your opponent. Finally you make some sense TLPG. I'll add though that its also about amazing skill, perhaps of the highest level of any of the footy codes. Hence pro RL players converting to Pro marngrook and rugby with apparent ease.

As for the rest of your post. Absolute dribble, fuelled by anger and hatred. Grow up TLPG. [-X If i was your momma I'd slap you silly right now. [-X [-X [-X

There is no skill in thuggery, KE. Stop making things up like I said. You're the one who needs to be slapped by your mother.
