Well I think the review of facts wasn't half bad. But a point of interest - the only reason Foxtel and Austar in New South Wales and Queensland are picking up subscribers is because (as the review pointed out) Nine has been treating even it's heartland fans like crap. Seven never did that to the AFL heartland states. So if there is a new deal and it involves better coverage on FTA in NSW and QLD, pay TV subscriptions could be in trouble anyway. Even if the deal results in a similar simulcast situation as exists at the moment with the AFL.

Quick note - Fox Footy has been outrating Fox Sports in total. It's the number 1 pay TV channel at present I hear, even ahead of Fox8.

In comparison with a channel that shows 20 year old cricket matches, Kick boxing, rugby union, darts and rugby league.

Yeah I agree you cant really compare foxfooty to fox 2 and say it is AFL V NRL. All you can say is that foxfooty is by far the most watched fox channel pretty much since it has been on air.

The NRL have lost all but 2 Friday nights this year, even including regionals. They also lose every Sunday.

As my combined concurrent payTV figures show, they lose payTV as well.

Intact the NRL home and away haven't got a match in the top11 rated games this year, including regionals. This has been posted by pussycat.

I think this year might be the first year that the AFL had about the same number of games that the NRL have. The NRL had about 10 more games last year and about 20 more the year before. You need to get some facts into your arguments Parra. As for the NRL winning the ratings the last 2 years. You could argue that per match the AFL out rate the NRL and always have.
