NRL in Perth was betwen 5.30-7.45pm which is a good ratings slot. The 6pm news, Today tonight and A current affair were the highest rating shows on TV last night and they ran between 6pm -7pm. This was smack bang in the middle of the NRL broadcast.

The AFL annihilated the NRL. Yes it is only 60% of your audience but it would be only 65% of ours too.

As piesman said, this game would have a total audience of 1.5m viewers, far more than any NRL home and away game this year. In fact its up there with typical NRL finals ratings (non GF), including regionals.

As piesman said, they schedule popular shows in the early evening, like 6pm - 8pm, because that's when there are the most eyes in front of the TV!

Face it. Why would the people in Victoria, SA WA or Tasmania be interested in a game that has incredibly low participation rates, few if any local players playing at the highest level, and one team between four states?

The AFL smashed the NRL in FTA and was also on foxtel, splitting the ratings. A total of 1.5m eclipses any NRL home and away game this year by a decent amount.

It's all upside for the AFL. nRL a distant second as usual.
