What is nrl? Some foreign thing?
Well Bon Jovi is like the rest of us real patriotic Australians who support an Australian game when we ask that question! =D>
WE didn't believe this amazing tale at first, but some rigid double-checking confirmed it's both too good and completely true. Last week a die-hard NRL fan travelled to America, where he met Jon Bon Jovi back stage during a gig in Las Vegas.
The fan didn't take long to ask the timeless rocker about his thoughts on being associated with rugby league through the game's new anthem, Our House.
To say the response was stunning is an understatement.
"What's rugby league?" Bon Jovi dead-panned, without a hint of irony.
After taking a few moments to collect his jaw off the floor, our man started to explain the Greatest Game of All to its chief spruiker.
It turned out the only Australian sporting franchise Bon Jovi had any idea about was A-League new boys Melbourne Heart, although he still wasn't sure whether they belonged to this mysterious rugby league cult.
The Heart are part-owned by a friend, who presented Bon Jovi with a jersey on his last visit Down Under.
But sadly, the NRL insider who confirmed this story also said there's no clause in its promotional deal for Bon Jovi to perform at a game.

Do you have a link AFL Warrior?
That's hilarious if true considering Bon Jovi's is the voice of the NRL's dumb tv advertising campaign.

And who could forget ol meatloaf's performance to raise the curtains on AFL Grandfinal day 2011. I think the youtube description puts it pretty well --- 'hilarious'.

He wasn't given the chance to rehearse and as a result couldn't make the adjustment. The AFL were being arrogant and that was the result. That won't happen again.

Americans say this sorta thing about foreign sports all the time, whats the news?AFL Warrior wrote:Meat Loaf is an idiot but Bon Jovi asking what is rugby league is a classic!
I have to say that meatloaf performance was befitting of an AFL Grand Final ( Very Old, very boring, very scarey, very erratic, trying way to hard, could not work out the song he was singing ).

Felt like i was living in the 90's all over again while watching that performance.
All in all another really bad thread by you AFL warrior. Bgrade thread ring any bells AFL warrior?

Atleast Billy Idol sang. Meatloaf...what the hell was that?AFL Warrior wrote:Bit like that old fool Billy Idol at an nrl game singing into a dead microphone!

I'd pass the sound of his AFL GF curtain raiser off as a cross between someone being choked, an elephant vommiting and the fattest man in the world taking a mammoth runny dump. Just an awful way to raise the curtains on the best game of the season. The faces in the audience were stricken with disturb and disgust.

AC/DC will hopefully be a better than meatloaf but they are fairly old hat, which is something they have in common with ol meatloaf. We will have to wait and see eh.
I'll never forget meatloafs effort though. It's gone down in folklore that one!
And aint nothin gunna make it any different.
