Allegations have arisen that a brawl at the Richmond vs Carlton match at the MCG on Thursday night resulted in a mother being repeatedly punched.
Caller to the Neil Mitchell program 'Julie' said she'd seen between eight to ten Blues supporters using foul language, when a father of a family asked them to stop.

Julie said the Blues supporters then proceeded to spit on the man and repeatedly punch his wife.
"I liken it to a soccer brawl, it was absolute hooliganism," Julie said.
Julie said the Carlton fans appeared to be aged between 17 and 18. She said the young men were wearing Carlton colours but were seated in the Richmond members section.
Julie said the fight went on for around 15 minutes, and that the men in the area had formed an arc to protect the women and children.
"The language was filth.. I've been to the footy a long time, but I've never heard such vile language."
She said security had arrived towards the end of the fight and escorted them out, and that police had been notified.

I mean wot is wrong with them ?

vile disgusting fans

I hear this type of thing is not uncommon
we saw footage of VFL fans attacking another female supporter last year ... the VFL is the new soccer in Aust where hooliganism is rife
the NRL has all but stamped this type of thing out of its game
the Bulldogs & their fans now a model club where behaviour is concerned
maybe the VFL needs to seek the NRL's help with this
show them how its done
when will Andy dimmerswitch stop pretending its all OK & do something
