I posted earlier that Qld regional population was 2m it should of read 2.6m. meaning NSW & Qld have a rulal popuulation of almost 6m.

Vic,WA.,Sa have a rural population under 2.5m.

Is it any wonder the AFL dont want to include these 8.5m Australian citizens in the TV ratings

Oztam count Brisbane and GC together so Qld only has 2 mil more.

We just want the regionals counted evenly, not focused on the NE coast.

According to the maps & figures the G.Coast (the 6th largest city in Australia) is covered by Northern NSW - So isnt counted(or only partly) , just like Newcastle (the 7th largest city in Austalia). And these NRL watchers are Australian citizens, there not the NZ NRL watchers you refuse to recognise.

There all but a few 100K not counted in the regional areas, and its Qld who fares worse in this regard - yet you refuse to count them. But what about the many, many millions of people who dont have a people meter? these people dont get counted either - there overlooked. Yet your only to happy to post figures for the capitol citities each week.

You're full of shit.

Even if we were to believe these bs cumulative figures, which include regional counts that exclude large areas of Austarlia, the only end up favoring the NRL by about 10%.

As I have already shown, an NRL fan can watch 14 hours of NRL each weekend and be counted 7 times because the games are all scheduled in separate time slots.

An AFL fan only watch a maximum of 13.5 hours (up until this year) which is only counted 4.5 times because the games are longer and they mostly overlap telecasts.

This effectively gives the NRL a massive advantage which is false.

Add to that the fact you have a longer season and include rep games and you can clearly see the AFL is still far more popular on TV, hence polls like the ones Morgan show every second year with AFL well ahead as the preferred product to watch.

Suck it up loser. The cumulative figures are a ploy by NRL media and staff to try to claim equality with the AFL. It's utter bs.

I know who is full of it.

Ive given you a rebuttle to every half baked argument you've raised!

Large areas of Australia? ??? 2 or 3% and the worst affected areas would be central Qld. And this opposed to the 20 odd million who are excluded from the survey because they don't have people meters .

Last year an AFL fan could watch at least 4 games on FTA. But whatch this years ratigs! we will blow you away by an even greater number.

Im sure the ARL/NRL would be about to apololgise for having greater product on TV nor would it be abot to apologise for having a vastly superior product on TV.

The only poll youve put up is an out of date one from some bias nutcase who claims the AFL rates better than the NRL on pay TV.

We will see in a few weeks just who the loser is.

Queensland make up about half.

No I put up a Morgan poll from this year showing that cricket, then AFL were the top two sports for TV viewers across Australia.

The NRL essentially only win Friday night when regionals are counted. Yet closer inspection shows they actually use two live games which are specifically targeted to their only two markets. They are shown between 7.30 and 9.30, which is maximum viewer time, and they use a flexible schedule to ensure the games are competitive for that stage in the season. They rarely ever show less popular teams like the raiders. They schedule the broncos, a single team representing an entire city of 2 million people, just about every week.

Imagine if the AFL followed a similar method and scheduled collingwood v westcoast, plus Adelaide v Lions, plus essendon v Sydney, every week, and showed it live to each market at 7.30pm on a Friday night. That's effectively a comparison of what the NRl do.

But I notice you avoid the fact that you and I can watch the same amount of game time on the weekend, yet you are counted as watching 50% more games! Cumulative figures are just lies. You have no come back at all. Fortunately the networks know the value of 3 hours of great ratings as opposed to 2. You're too stupid to know the difference!

Finally, if the NrL is so much more popular, why does the NRL GF lose to the AFL GF repeatedly?

Again , that more bias garbage coming from morgan. And the date Morgan gets his figures is july2009-2010 (See the bottom of the article and see when his figures were taken - there majorly slanted anyrate) . Do you think the AFL are even close to NRL on Pay TV, I think he even says that soccer rater better on pay Tv.

The win regionals quiet often now when neither regionals or Pay TV is counted, If either were counted they would win everry single week. There is currenty only 1 live game per week shown on Ch 9 in Sydney and 1 in Qld. 9.30 to 11.20 is hardly prime viewing time.

It is well documented how uneven the AFL cmpetition is, you dont have to conviince me. In leaue Ch9 pick games ? 1,2,5 , I not sure yours isnt to much different.

NSW gets

Fri. Live (there No1 pick)
Fri. Two Hour Delay (Qld game)
Sat. PTV live
Sat. PTV Live
Sat. PTV two hour delay
Sun. Pay tv live
Sun. Ch.9 delayed 1 hour
mon. PTV live

What do Victoria get???

I doubt that is the case either . We only have 8 games to your 9 but we have things like test and origin matches. Demetriuo is the king of spin, bullshit and propaganda. If there are any lies being told you can be sure he will be at the centre of it.

The network are well aware what what a huge bonus the east coast is for advertising. And league controls the vast majority of that.

It doesn't.

You get the opportunity to watch 7 games. I have only been able to watch 4.5games, because they are mostly shown in the same time slots. So you are counted 7 times for watching the same amount of tv as I am counted 4.5 times. the cummulative effect over a season is massive, especially when the NRL has a longer season to begin with.

How is that hard for you to understand?

The AFL get one extra FTA slot, which is on Saturday afternoon, the lowest ratings spot of the weekend. it's also shown directly against another payTV game, dividing the audience for both. Other than that the AFL had no live games at all (other than non heartland markets), and games shown up until 10.30 or 11.30pm, which rate far worse than prime time. The AFals second biggest market gets most games on 3 hours delay!

The NRL may win FN with live targeted games but They lose fta on Sunday consistently when the AFL use similar targetting tactics.

Your payTV argument is rubbish. None of the AFL games on payTV were shown in isolation. They were always up against a FTA game, dividing the audience. In fact the lions and swans are often shown on both payTV and FTA at the same time! Subscription rates in AFL states are also significantly lower than in NRL states. Add to this the fact that PayTV were always given the poorer 4 games, not the blockbuster games.

How exactly are Morgan polls biased?

This is for last years season! You can't get much more up to date than that!

I know you don't want to believe it but the results are clear and are similar to previous years polls. The poll also includes SOO, which rates higher than your GF! So an AFL v NRL comparison, not including RL rep games would heavily favour the AFL.

I'm not sure how you think an Independant study is bias. :?

Come up with all the excuses you like. You better get some more readdy, up until now you have had more FTA coverage and we havve still kicked your butt, now we will kick it even further.

Nrl have 5 games are on PTV - Meaning they can be watched by just 30 % of viewers. games 3-4-6-7-8 . aroun 75 of the top 100 programs on Pay TV every year.

Stop beating about the bush and tell us what maches are on Victorian TV. I didnt go on with all this garbage and excuses when I showed the programming list fo NSW.

They're not excuses chump, they're reasons, just like the AFL smash the NRL on FTA on Sunday.

The AFL is seen in AFL states on (last year):
FN which goes until 11.30pm and is delayed into each market between 1 and 3 hrs
SA which is delayed by 1 hr
SN which is delayed into each market
SUN A which is delayed into each market

Foxtel games are SA, SN, Sun A and Sun A, each shown at the same time as a FTA broadcast, hence the lower ratings for both.

Get to the point. We did have more stuff on Pay TV. But we have totally dominated. with around 75 of the top 100 programs on Fox each year. The AFL on the other hand has had a lot more stuff on FTA and have usually won there But only because they dont like to include the league dominated areas like Newcastle, Illawarra, G.Coast, N Z , North Qld or Canberra. If they did they would be totally dominated there aswell.
