Yes I've always thought a sport shouldnt have the name of its country of origin in the title.

Firstly, it stinks of arrogance and nationalistic pride, a thing looked down upon in todays era.

Secondly, it makes promotion o/s excessively difficult. As I've said before, would any of you consider taking up a sport called Chinese Football if some lard arse named Andy Dimmerdong came over here with promo stickers?

Thirdly, it fosters embarrassing and innapropriate confusion between the naming of the sport itself and the national organisation which runs it.

And finally, a sport in its fundamental essence is not about the nation in which it is played. Its about competition, skills, mental and physical fitness, sportsmanship, values and attitudes, entertainment and enjoyment.

So, can we get your thoughts on the newly established Australian Rugby League Commission?

The sport is called Rugby League Beaussie, its never been called the Australian Rugby League Commission dumbarse On the contrary the AFL is innapropriately used as the name of the sport of Australian Rules Football ('Australian Rules' is by the way also an innapropriate name).

The code of aussie rules needs to get the term 'Australian' and the sport separated. The name marngrook would be a much better name. Or as NSWAFL has suggested "dissilusioned feral cat" would also be a good name for the code AR.

Now to answer your question further beaussie. Of course an organisation can have the name of the nation attached you dimwit. I have no problem with the name "the Australian Football League" for example. FFS get with the program beaussie or just go away. You clearly cant handle discussing topics with the adults in here.

Had to add this to back NSWAFL up. That's Central Australia! Maybe it's a different name, but that's all that's different! And thugby is NOT played "in numbers" (that's what NSWAFL said) outside of NSW and Queensland just by the way!

Now, nice link by the way. But purltja is not marngrook. There is clear evidence of differing rules in differing regions, read the links attached. Although similar, purltja cant be called marngrook and marngrook cannot be said to have been played across the country.

Thanks, TLPG! I guess Dunce is trying to claim that if it's played at all it means "in numbers", which it DOESN'T! There is no evidence that counters the view that Marngrook was played everywhere. There's no evidence either way really, but I believe it was and your link to Yuendumu proves it!

What's this about a ban from the Arcade forum? Do tell!

I'll keep it brief because this is off topic, but basically it's because he chased a user called Arcade Nut off with his baiting in the comments of the games, and the straw that broke the camel's back was when KE called on Arcade to "bow down before him". Arcade told me in PM that he is a devout Christian and that comment offended him a great deal and he was leaving and would not be back until KE was banned from the arcade. I can only stop him from posting on the arcade forum and that's what I'm doing. Banning from the arcade completely is up to Beau.

Except arcadenut actually had no skill and could not even get close to my majestical 50 titles. :D

NSW you should pop into the arcade sometime if you're interested. You'll quickly see I'm the best there's ever been in the arcade. All Time Greatest Champ 2005-Present. If you come in though try not to be jealous.
