The Foxtel game was Carlton v Brisbane and yes it was at the same time.ParraEelsNRL wrote:Not all games are on fox at the same time so stop lying.
We had this same argument with your dopey mates at LU over this very game and it was proved that the game was NOT on Pay TV.

I never said it was the same game in this example. But its still two AFL games into 1 city v 1 NRL game. 70K for the AFL, plus foxtel, v 300k for NRL actually looks pretty good for the AFL.ParraEelsNRL wrote:Goal post removal service in full swing again.
1 in 5 fans preferring AFL over NRL in Sydney.

http://www.screenaustralia.gov.au/resea ... opprog.asp
This site lists all the best TV rating shows for each year in the past decade. It's OZTAM figures but it shows the AFL GF ratings for 5 years ago (2006) as being 3.145m. A very good figure and primarily because it was played between teams in two different states. Last year rated 2.6m.
Therefore this is only a reduction of 16% and is primarily due to the participants in each of these finals, not the interest in the game on TV overall. A similar pattern has occurred for the NRL when they had GFs involving Melbourne.

Case closed. How could ratings have fallen when there has been a 23% increase in pay tv numbers alone along with an increase in FTA ratings?Overall, television ratings have also increased slightly, although the number of people watching football on pay TV has jumped 23 per cent.

With Raider refusing to back up his claim or paticipate in the debate, this one should be an easy one to adjudicate yeah?
