How does the RFL benefit Australia sara asks?
Hmmm, but sending players out here to play in our NRL sides that are all far more famous than every AFL club, and by also touring out here in 4 nations comps and Lions tours where up to 10,000 travelling poms follow their team all over the joint spending their hard earned in Australia helping to boost our economy.
What's boggerball do?

backers to the hilt for our sides already ... 7 consortiums chokers full of businessmen already onboardAnd how are you going to pay for their relocation?
with the 2 favs having the thoroughbreds ( wealthy brisbanites.. some of the richest Aust there are ) already involved with the Bombers
Mining magnate Tony Sage ready to pump millions into a Perth NRL side
& a billion dollar TV deal too
all sorted...
you have cr@p & the proof was last years compWe have about that many players waiting right here in Australia! 18 clubs in SA and WA and strengthening competition in Tasmania and the NEAFL not to mention the state league in Victoria. Where's the local back up for the NRL in such numbers
more lop sided games ... more uncompetitive clubs then ever before ... & another one into the mix this year to make the AFL an even less appealing comp then last years debacle
you don't have enough players of AFL standard to field 18 clubs ... FULLSTOP
we have tens of thousands of players here in Aust too
that doesn't mean they are of NRL standard ...some are ... but most aren't
but.. we have plenty that are in the UK ....100 ex NRL players
75 would get a start in the NRL tomorrow
the european econonmy is not the golden paved path to easy money it used to be
when our next TV deal kicks in .... the bigger money for playing RL will be back here ... those players will return & bring plenty of good young English talent with them
NZ is producing players like its going out of fashion too
their Toyota cup side is proof
young Kiwis know if they want to play RL ... theres 17 Clubs across the ditch who will pay them well if they cant get a start at the Warriors
they are taking up the game in droves
our 2 new teams will be potential finalists in their first year
unlike the AFL's ... where you'd rather put your head ova bucket of puke ... then watch them play.

Your precious millionaires aren't going to waste their hard earned on oversea talent when Australia is supposed to be the strongest RL country in the world!! They'll go local first, and find diddly squat, and then they'll bail when they realise what a basket case the NRL is!
The VFL, the SANFL and the WAFL are ALL to AFL standard! Resting players who aren't in the top 22 of their AFL club play in those comps! So F You, Dave!

be the only reply who's appreciated the thread title.
bravo, bravo , well done ...... can we see more of this please =D> =D> =D>
Now, your point is that some overseas competitions provide a pathway to the nrl so the nrl benefits in the same way that
overseas AFLs provide a pathway to the AFL and the AFL benefits.
So that benefits Australia in a small way.
Your second point is that International games are avenues for sports tourism just as the AFL engages in the IR series.
The big difference is that most developments in rl in other countries promote rl not Australia.
When a country takes up AR it's promoting Australia socially, politically, economically and culturely.
When a country takes up AR it requires Australian resources and Australia benefits .
At least rl is not like soccer where all resource get sucked towards FIFA.
Nice try Cos.

King-Eliagh: ...I believe [RL] is popular in all the other states and territories, bar tasmania.
Re: A win for Australian Football is a win for Australia.
Which is what he did, ignoring the next level and trying to go with lopsided results as an indicator instead. Dave's showing his ignorance of the great game of AFL.

Looking for squeaking doors to oil and mice to control I guess.
