NRL is a criminal offence.
Give it time and Todd "I live to drink drive" Carney will be in the headlines, but for now here is more NRL bravado which am sure will result in this thug getting a new contract at another club...just like what Cronulla gave Carney boy!
Cronulla Sharks player Isaac Gordon has pleaded guilty to assaulting his former girlfriend, who was seven months pregnant at the time.
Gordon appeared at Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday and agreed to the plea in exchange for the Crown withdrawing a more serious charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The 25-year-old, wearing a dark suit and white shirt, was also handed a 12-month apprehended violence order (AVO).
The court heard that Gordon returned home after a booze-fuelled night and became involved in a confrontation with Karen Lee Davison, who has since given birth to their child.
A request by Gordon's legal counsel that the magistrate not record a conviction for the common assault was denied.
Gordon was given an 18-month good behaviour bond.

Look , we all know what has occurred and even though IMO rl would come out much much much much worseNSWAFL wrote:Suggestion. Let's list all the offences like this (from both sides to be fair) and see how it all balances up.
I believe we don't have to sink that low.
Nice try Cos.

Wife-beating ex-AFL player Fabian Francis jailed
by: Court Reporter Candice Keller
From: AdelaideNow
January 25, 2012 10:01AM
FOR 10 years former Power star Fabian Francis bashed and threatened his ex-wife Debra Buckskin.
Now he will spend at least 15 months in jail for his many vicious and violent attacks on her - some of which were perpetrated in front of their children, family and friends.
Francis played 86 AFL games for Port Adelaide between 1997 and 2001 before injury ended his career. He also played in the AFL for Brisbane and Melbourne.
Today, the former star was sentenced in the District Court to four years' jail, with a non-parole period of 15 months, for eight counts of abuse and threatening to harm Ms Buckskin, to whom he was married from 1999 to 2007.
In August a jury found Francis guilty of bashing Ms Buckskin in the face, threatening to stab her in the throat and threatening to injure her to such an extent that she would only be able to drink through a straw.
Today Judge Gordon Barrett said he accepted Ms Buckskin's evidence and found that Francis initiated the violence during their relationship.
"For almost all of the 10 years you were together, you were domineering, threatening, verbally vicious and at times physically quite violent," Judge Barrett said.
"The charge of assault occasioning bodily harm relates to you punching your partner in the face in the presence of neighbours, knowing full well the injury would be seen by family.
"In photos from Christmas 2000, Ms Buckskin has a black eye and I believe you assaulted her on that occasion.
"You were undeterred by the presence of others - by the presence of your children, her parents or by work colleagues.
"She couldn't count on being safe at home ... You did more than give her a back-hand."
He said that Ms Buckskin did retaliate on occasion but attributed those actions to self-defence.
"I accept that throughout your time together she stood up to you and argued back," he said.
"Sometimes she fought back.
"Perhaps if she had been more submissive you would have been less violent."
However, he said that was not an acceptable situation either.
Judge Barrett agreed that Francis had only been violent during this particular relationship but that his behaviour was on-going.
"The charged acts should not be seen as isolated," he said.
He commended Francis for his distinguished football career - during which he played 109 AFL games - and the many character references that claimed he was not a violent man.
However he did not find reason to suspend the sentence and Francis was jailed immediately.
Francis' partner and mother of his four-month old daughter, Trish Gully, wept as the sentence was delivered.
Outside court David Stokes, for Francis, said they would consider an appeal.

Re: NRL is a criminal offence.
Restriction. It has to be CURRENT players, or stories from times when the player was a current player. Applies to both sides.
So strike this one out.

You said list all the offences for both sides. Nothing about only being current players.

Ricky Nixon banned from driving
Disgraced former AFL player manager Ricky Nixon has again lost his licence after twice being caught driving while suspended last year.
The 48-year-old pleaded guilty in the Melbourne Magistrates Court today to two charges of driving while suspended and received a $1000 fine and had his licence suspended for two months.
Nixon's licence had been suspended last May for six months after he accumulated too many demerit points.
The court heard Nixon had been pulled over by police in South Melbourne on July 28 last year after going to a police station to talk to officers regarding another matter.
On leaving the station, Nixon was pulled over and found to be driving illegally.
A month later, on August 23, he was again pulled over by police while driving along Bay Street, Port Melbourne. He admitted to police he was driving without a licence and told them he had been dropping the car off to a former employee.
The court heard that Nixon had been unaware his licence was suspended when he was pulled over in July. His lawyer, Theo Alexander, explained that after his suspension Nixon had received a new licence in the post and had wrongly assumed that this meant he was again able to drive.
The court heard the driving charges had been part of an “annus horribilus” for Nixon who was now rebuilding his business and had recently become engaged.
Magistrate Philip Ginnane gave Nixon three months to pay his $1000 fine and suspended his licence for two months, effective from today.
His fiancee Tegan Gould was spotted outside the Magistrates Court but was not present at the hearing.
Nixon appeared in court with a short haircut without his distinctive trademark curls and wearing a dark suit.
He said outside court he was pleased with the outcome.
"It was a fairly minor matter, I’m pleased with the outcome. It was a really bad year for me. That’s the end of the matter, I won’t be saying anything else about it," Nixon said.
