No, you said "play AFL" which is the term given to Australian Rules Football in New South Wales (and Queensland)! Therefore, you are saying that no Australian rules is played in Newcastle.

Concede now, Parra, or face the official chop in six days!

Where does the Newcastle AFL team play?

What colours do the team wear in the AFL?

Who's their captain for Newcastles AFL club?

How long have they played in the AFL comp?

What TV station broadcasts their games?

What emblem do they wear?

Have they won a flag? lol

Won a spoon?

Do they get cap help like the 4 other Northern based AFL team have and do?

Who kicked their first goal in the AFL?

Who kicked their first behind in the AFL?

Who kicked the first goal against them in the AFL?

Who kicked the first behind against them in the AFL?

What is their crowd average in the AFL?

All irrelevant. Your claim was that there is no AR in Newcastle, not that they don't play in the AUstralian Football League.

You can't get out of it, Parra. You're done.

Parra loses. In New South Wales, they don't call it AR much anymore. They call it AFL. That's a fact. It's the same in Queensland. Only in NSW and QLD do the AR competitions call themselves "AFL". Such as the Black Diamond AFL - the competition that Parra thinks doesn't exist. He wants to know what the name of the Newcastle AFL club is?

The Newcastle City Blues. First played in 1883, and have played consistently since 1948. Their home ground is the Newcastle No.1 Sportsground - which has hosted Sheffield Shield cricket and is regarded by Novacastrians as their version of the SCG, the MCG etc.

And there is a side in Cardiff (a Newcastle suburb) as well in the Black Diamond AFL.

So don't tell me AFL isn't played in Newcastle, bub!

I'd be checking the NAFL website for all that champ! After all they call the game AFL in Newcastle so they certainly do play AFL there!

And my quoted post.

Stop talking about the Australian Football League competition, Parra. You said challenged me to prove that "Newcastle play AFL". You did NOT challenge me to prove that "Newcastle play in the AFL".

Bingo.

You need to be careful about terminology Parra.

Yours does not fit the claim. You can't change the meaning later and say you are now right.

Right. So, Parra, you have a choice.

Concede, and accept the BS point or;

Prove that the Newcastle City Blues and the Cardiff Hawks don't exist.

What was that Bea?

Did you post Australian Rules Football instead of Australian Football League?

Dear oh dear, thanks mate, another point to me.
I have to profess the site owner has a very long and sound understanding of the game called Australian Rules Football. I also think NSWAFL, although the littlest member of the AFL clan in here, also has a fairly sound understanding of the game called Australian Rules Football. Its a simple open and close case here and a good opportunity to ensure we are accurate when making statements in the future, just what the BS files were created for. :)

NSWAFL, you did good mate, you did alright...but you lost.

It's clear Parra is trying to be tricky again with a play on words. Another fail Parra.

parafeel uses "AFL" almost all the time and NOT "AR".

In another thread he clearly uses the "RFL" and then tries to claim ownership of GB rl under the RFL.
You cannot have it bothways parafeel.
And it's BS trying to win BS on minor wordings.
Nice try Cos.

No I didn't. Both Australian Rules Football and AFL are applicable. Beaussie simply made a choice to go with the other, given that the term "AFL" only goes back to 1990 and the game in Newcastle as indicated goes back much further than that. But it is referred to as "AFL" in New South Wales and Queensland. AFL North Coast for example (that's the league based in Coffs Harbour).

I proved you wrong on that one too and I deserve another point simply because you're a gutless coward.
