Fight clubs are built on trolling .... insults fly ... feelings are hurt ... honour challenged
parentage questioned .. intelligence too

hence the term " FIGHT"

if you want a nice .. quiet ... cruisey forum
start one up called " thought provoking club" & send us all to sleep there

otherwise
put up your dooks .. if this isn't your cup of tea
theres the door ...........
No!

League Unlimited's TFC is based on abuse and trolling! It is a despicable place full of hate.

There are plenty of topics we can fight about without the need to follow that very poor example. I'm fine with some trolling and banter but I do not want this to become an LU TfC copy!

Keep the arguing about the topics! We'll still have plenty to do and say I can assure you.

cop a hiding there did ya ?

the posters there aren't precious ... i'd suggest you don't be that either

again
you tie peoples arms behind their backs in fight club... it ceases to be what it is supposed to be
be careful .. the whole deck of cards will come tumbling down like it nearly did a while back ....

Whaaat thaaaa FUUUUUKKK is going on here! Xman, I gave you the nod as Beaussies johnny come lately of choice as the AFL supporting FC mod. And looky whats happened. You need to respect what this fight club is about, it is NOT a debate club, never has and never will be. Raider is right, if you want this, you need to go elsewhere and pronto before things get a bit loose.

Secondly, [Xman] you're welcome to your opinion, but you cannot continue to make statements of fact without proof. This goes for both sides.[/Xman]

This is subjective dribble disguised as objective authority. Xman if you wish not to be a complete imbecile I'd take a long look at this statement and think. This goes for both sides eh...ok ummm so when an AFL supporter says AFL is "the number one game in Australia" (quote = beaussie) what are you gunna do about it? Delete it? Becuase this statement is impossible to prove hence the massive and ongoing fights within this forum. This is what we're here for, the fight, you cant really prove which one is Australias number one sport but you can make statements which go towards proving this and have them fought over within these halls.

Your approach to moderation is all of a sudden looking very dicey indeed Xman, perhaps you weren't the right man for the job... [-X

You've got time though to change your tune and illustrate an approach which better fits the meaning of this forum. You see the thing is the majority of AFL posters, including our illustrious administrator beaussie, love the fight, hence their continued involvement. Some just dont have the skin for it and thats fine too, aslong as they choose to leave, without throwing a big tantrum/hissyfit on their way out screaming "they were rude, it should be a debate club". Its a fight club, remember this Xman and you will go ok  .

Do date the only posts I have deleted have been mindless one liners that are off-topic. I have asked other posters to provide proof of statements, and will continue to do so.

I am perfectly happy for opinions such as "the AFL is Australia's number 1 code" to be voiced. However they should be acknowledged as opinions unless they are backed up with proof.

I appreciate your opinion. However, asking for proof is something that is demanded even on LU's TFC, and It is certainly not done impartially either.

I am also happy for some trolling banter but the moment it becomes repetitive dribble like the farts and burps etc it's GONE.

Well that's the way I see it anyway. If you disagree so be it. Join in or not. If Beaussie disagrees he is welcome to do something if he feels so inclined.

Sounds like you are suggesting something close to no rules. I disagree. I'd suggest maybe waiting a little while to see how things pan out before asking for my head.

And Xman is it you who decides what is a statement and what is an opinion? I'll tell you right now that Beaussie doesnt post "the AFL is the number one sport in Australia" as merely his opinion. Its his statement and he beleives it whole heartedly and good for him...doesnt mean Raiderdave or I cant object. This is called freedom of speech.

Now if you are to be consistent you will have to go and follow Beaussie and all those other AFL mob and ask them to prove their "statements". This is an ill advised moderating strategy and its not surprising a numbnut like Topper is agreeing with it at this point. Asking for proof is fine, but threatening authority if one cannot prove their claims is dictatorial. I, for example, am not happy to waste my time getting photos of me taking a screamer playing aussie rules to prove I play the game, but this doesnt mean I dont play the game. We're on an internet site remember? Cyberspace? In any case the numbats who disagree with my playing their sport will continue disagreeing even if I provided evidence. Point is there'll be evidence flying in from both directions and it is up to and for the members, not the moderator to make the judgement call on what is true/proven and what is not.

I will wait and watch, as will Raider... in the mean time perhaps you need to think of the reactions of your AFL bumchums if you were to apply this moderation on their "statements"...? And also your role as moderator. Beaussie I mentioned this before during TLPG's brief Dictatorship as moderator in here. You need to be defining what is right and wrong for moderators. I.e. clear definition of the mods role in here as there is clearly still confusion.

King there are many examples to prove that AFL is the number sport in Australia. It's not just an opinion. Evidence exists that it is true. That fits Xman's statement, doesn't it?

All Xman is trying to do is make this place better than League Unlimited. And that wouldn't be very hard at all!

I cannot see the problem with making a statement as fact and backing it with proof, or making a comment and saying it is your opinion. If both sides follow this it should make for an even playing field. It may not be perfect but it's surely better than chaos.

I don't have a problem with this. I made a statement that I thought was fact just today. I was called out on it so I sought evidence, and I found my source was wrong. So I did the right thing and retracted the statement of fact and specifically put my opinion as a sub, instead of running with the whole thing anyway. Xman is promotong ownership of one's statements and credibility. Hell, wouldn't it be better to fight someone who fights fair than fight someone who keeps hitting you in the balls and then deny he ever did it?

rubbish.

But whats the point in fighting if no one can ever prove a point? Because whenever anyone actually comes up with a decent point backed by evidence it immediately gets trumped by someones baseless opinion which he claims is fact.

I'm happy for some trolling to occur but dont expect it to win any arguments.

Just as long as it's clear that one is expressing and opinion (ie "I think", "in my opinion" etc etc).

There's nothing wrong with "In my opinion Raider Dave is a transexual". There's PLENTY wrong with "Raider Dave is a transexual". The two comments have the same effect at the core and it's still a form of trolling. Just not out of control.

That help, Dave? Or are you going to insist on out of control trolling? (King should pay attention to the answer here)
