a relavent comparison

how bout the Swans were playing in a fine facility that seated 50K
& only 1/4 filled it
When did the SCG hold 50k whilst the Swans were playing there. Still doesn't now. #-o

the Storm played until last year ... in a delapadated hole ( Olympic Park ) that held barely 15K

well ... filled it by your 75% is filled calculation anyway
hows that for relavent
Olympic Park held nearly 25k and the Storm were lucky to ever get more than 11k average. We were told by RL supporters that crowds would increase once the "delapadated hole" was gone. What happened there? :?>

GWS will be bigger than the Storm. Mark my words on that.

The salary cap scandal happened. I'm sure that had an impact on their supporter base.

Sounds like another pathetic excuse for the low crowds in RL.

LOL
Olympic park's capacity from 1998 was around 15K
the Storm smashed the capacity several times ... 20K once ,, 18K a few times
til the police put a 15K cap on it .. for safety

it was truly a hole ... having been there once it was without doubt the worst football venue I have ever gone to
I'm amazed the Storm averaged nearly 12K there

Storm crowds are up 25% at AMMI & also
Victory thought the crowds they got at Olympic Park would increase considerably at AAMI ... & they'd at least be as big as their 23K average from Etihad
the reality
they average a smidgeon more then the Storm there
its an issue with the stadium
nuff said.

meanwhile .. the Swans average plummets .... its like the coles ad

down down down

Check out crowd averages for the season where their results didn't count.
Rugby League has a lying culture. Altering crowd figures, relying on inaccurate TV figures from regional NSW and refusing to distance itself from Leagues Clubs and obtain it's own club memberships as it relies on LC's to survive as private entities.

The crowd average was aided by the $1 tickets to their final game and the first ever game at AAMI Park.

$1 tickets for Storm's season finale
Melbourne Storm are hoping to end their season of salary cap disgrace on a high, aiming for a sell-out home crowd by selling tickets for $1.

It would allow the Storm to farewell its many departing players, including superstar Greg Inglis, in style as they sign off in the September 5 final round match against Newcastle at their new home ground.

Storm chief executive Ron Gauci announced the $1 ticket initiative on Tuesday, with the club dedicating the game to thanking Melbourne for its support in the Storm's most turbulent season.

With the Storm condemned to the wooden spoon ever since they were stripped of two premierships and all competition points in 2010 for salary cap rorting, it gives the opportunity to finish on a positive note.

The club will be farewelling Brisbane-bound Inglis and other senior players in Ryan Hoffman, Brett White, Brett Finch, Jeff Lima and Aiden Tolman.

The club will donate all ticket proceeds to Ovarian Cancer Australia.

Oh yes the $1 tickets. And to think Raider has the hide to suggest most AFL tickets are worth $2.50. #-o

Only children can get in for $2.50 and they represent a minority.
