thats ... 86,000 U12's
not all up players. senior n junior ... not just junior players

86,000 ..... 8-[

there'd need to be at least .. 4300 U12 AFL teams in NSW

And nothing more than a burp from the opposition. It's great news, Xman.
Rugby League has a lying culture. Altering crowd figures, relying on inaccurate TV figures from regional NSW and refusing to distance itself from Leagues Clubs and obtain it's own club memberships as it relies on LC's to survive as private entities.

Steve Mahar appointed new Manager - ACT / South Coast Region

09 December 2011
AFL NSW/ACT is delighted to announce the appointment of Steve Mahar as the new Manager – ACT / South Coast Region.

Steve’s role will see him working across the seven pillars of AFL NSW/ACT – participation, community, talent and second tier, facilities, engagement, fans and people and culture – to grow the game in the region. All AFL Canberra and South Coast staff will report to Steve.

General Manager – AFL NSW/ACT Tom Harley said Steve’s appointment is critical to the development of the game in the nation’s capital and the South Coast.

"Steve has worked with the AFL NSW/ACT Joss Talent Program for the past 12 months and his expertise, experience and leadership will be integral to the growth of the game in the ACT and South Coast," Harley said.

"Steve’s role will see him working across all corners of the business with a strong emphasis on grassroots participation and talent outcomes.

"Steve will work closely with the GWS GIANTS, in particular Canberra's GIANTS based executive member Garry Buchanan, to ensure ultimate collaboration so that both the code and the club thrive.

"Steve is highly respected in the AFL Canberra and South Coast communities and is the perfect person to drive the AFL’s national development objectives through local solutions.

"This is truly an exciting era for AFL in the ACT and South Coast with participation rates booming, strong junior and senior competitions, great community facilities and the imminent debut of the GWS GIANTS in the region."
Steve has had an exceptional career on and off the AFL field having spent time on the Sydney Swans’ rookie list before playing and coaching Belconnen Magpies.

Let's have a look at this article!

With the winter junior sport season starting across Sydney this morning, AFL NSW/ACT says junior Australian rules numbers have doubled for under-12s since 2005, from 41,807 to 85,154 last year.

More than 300,000 children take part in AFL promotional activities including gala days, clinics and holiday camps every year. Auskick is the AFL's introductory program for 5- to 12-year-olds, and children are given an Auskick pack that includes a football, backpack, AFL passport and posters.

The article mentions auskick, and refers to them as junior australian rules numbers. The article mentions that auskick is 5-12yr olds. The article says that the numbers for participants under 12 have doubled.

Guess what. The number of Auskick participants, who are aged between 5-12yrs, have doubled in NSW in the time period mentioned!

Amazing what revelations can be seen when someone reads the article with an IQ over 25!

& also even if thats what this woefully written article is trying to say ( which it isn't .. its misleading & an obvious attempt at BS'ing their figures )

is NSWAFL .. our newest member .. a complete peanut then ?
because he actually tried to say the story was correct .. that the 86K .. was . state wide .. & these U12 players were out there .. in Eden 8-[ .. & Wagga .. :-k & errrrrr .. Wollongong #-o

also
is the other article ... the one cuzzy posted .. similarly ridiculous numbers
is that all mis quoted ..n of course meaning auskick . despite no mention of it here .... at all ?
is that one the same too ? :-k

Your issue is with the author of the article and the fact he used ambiguous terminology.

Auskick, which the author mentions a number of times, is for ages under 12. There is no mention of AFL under 12 leagues or clubs, just participants under 12 years of age in NSW. This is exactly what auskick is!

You morons completely misunderstood the article and went into a frenzy, all because you lack basic skills of interpretation and understanding!

U12's .. not participants U12 ..
there a massive difference

U12's is reference to an age group with the addtion of the .. s.. singular .. not a range of ages
no mention of any range of ages where the 85,154 is concerned

we didn't understand it .. oh [-X we understood just fine
its a typical headline whore attempt by the look at me .. look at me AFL

its embarrasing

If an article like that came out about NRL .. as poor .. as misleading

the NRL would have said so & corrected the nonsense in it
the AFL's reponse to this pile of poo & the one cuzzy posted

crickets chirping
why would we expect anything else from these lying scum. [-X [-X [-( [-(
