Growth at the pace mentioned is impressive I would say.

Try even finding a RL club in melbourne! Their few and far between.

It's not the number of new teams that impressive, but the number compared to what was originally there. That's real growth! It's no doubt significantly higher than any RL growth outside NSW or QLD

That's one club. One club that's grown nicely in a short space of time. Combine that with other growing AR clubs and the result is significant.

http://www.cronulla.sharks.jafc.org.au/welcome-sharks

Cronulla is a small club but growing fast, with membership up by over 80% over the past four years. Teams include:

•Auskick (players turning 5 to 8 years this calendar year)
•Under 9 (players turning 9 this calendar year)
•Under 10 (players turning 10 this calendar year)
•Under 11 (players turning 11 this calendar year)
•Under 12 (players turning 12 this calendar year)
•Under 13 (players turning 13 this calendar year)
•Under 14 (players turning 14 this calendar year)
•Under 16 (players turning 15 or 16 this calendar year)
7 teams
Where does it say "7 teams" ?

It says Cronulla JAFC has teams in Auskick and seven age divisions. #-o

We don't know exactly how many teams Cronulla has only that they're up 80%.
Nice try Cos.

Southern Sharks become Southern Power

In a significant event for the Sutherland Australian Football Club, at an Extraordinary General Meeting held on Sunday 14th December last year attended by 19 current members as well as receiving Proxy votes from another 7, the decision was made to change the playing name of the club to the Southern Power effective 2009 in a unanimous decision.

Already this change has seen the Clubs most productive off-season in its 36 year existence with an enormous increase in local business support with over 10 times the sponsorship dollars received in total last year already locked in with still over 3 months till the first bounce of the season.

Go the Power!
I have been corrected, as has TLPG's website. I should ask him in PM why this club isn't included in his coverage.
Rugby League has a lying culture. Altering crowd figures, relying on inaccurate TV figures from regional NSW and refusing to distance itself from Leagues Clubs and obtain it's own club memberships as it relies on LC's to survive as private entities.

Which Topper did, and the reason is because the senior club plays amongst the seconds of the Sydney AFL clubs. That's the way the competition is laid out - and to be honest I don't like it because it hides clubs like this from mainstream view.
