KHunt NOT Interested in Throwball Anymore

Post by Beaussie »

He wants to play real football.

Why would one want to return to the NSW/QLD RL. Not Karmichael that's for sure. Like Izzy once one makes the switch to the big league in the AFL, they aren't keen to go back to a code played in just two states of this great country of ours.
Karmichael Hunt set to extend contract with Gold Coast Suns and reject rugby's overtures

Karmichael Hunt is poised to extend his contract with Gold Coast Suns beyond next year and is keen to be a part of the club's first AFL finals side.

The trailblazer has been sounded out by both rugby codes about a return when his contract expires in 2012.

But his management has begun talks with the Suns and all parties agree about where Hunt's future lies.

The revelation makes a mockery of the critics who claimed Hunt was little more than a publicity stunt for the AFL.

"I love being a part of this club," he said. "I feel like I can easily take information on board and I'm always willing to improve.

"I believe I can contribute to the club down the line.

"We have such a talented group, fingers crossed we could be playing finals in the next few years and I would love to be part of it."

The 25-year-old's new deal will not match the $1 million a year he pocketed in his initial three-year contract, but he should still command a salary of more than $400,000 from the Suns.

It is understood the AFL is open to extending his special promotions contract, which also expires at the end of next year.

The reviews of Hunt's first year in the AFL have been largely positive.

Gold Coast football manager Marcus Ashcroft said the Suns were convinced Hunt could play a key role.

"His improvement has been phenomenal," Ashcroft said.

He knows a great game when he plays one.
Rugby League has a lying culture. Altering crowd figures, relying on inaccurate TV figures from regional NSW and refusing to distance itself from Leagues Clubs and obtain it's own club memberships as it relies on LC's to survive as private entities.

I thought he said it was really 'tough' making the transition? Now he says he takes on info easily?

I wouldn't be surprised if the money hungry Khunt is simply a bit deluded that he has what it takes to be a finals player. Or perhaps the Khunt is simply a less honest version of myself and has realised that maybe he's simply lost the toughness it takes to be a quality league player...?

Either way I think the pay cut should have been much larger.

What would you know King-Coward about the AFL as you have never played it. The Warrior however was a champion player during his days. Stick to what you know best King-Coward and that is being an NRL loser.

No I simply despise those who are money hungry sellouts. This is Khunt. I remind you all of the swiss vitamin add of Khunt frollicking on a gold coast beach and in france (where he was actually playing RU) kicking a footy and taking uncontested marks. It turned out to be a fair portrayal of his skill as he never took a contested mark in his whole first season!

I think he just can't understand how an RL player could convert to AFL, Beaussie. It goes to show how little he understands AFL and is further evidence that he has never played the game.

If Flogball only offer him 400K .... watch him walk
as E has pointed out .. he is a money hungry grub .. & whilst the 400K would be easy money playing a game of little skill ... & further proof of this is he didn't have to do anything really for the million plus he was paid ova the last 3 years
400K is less then he could earn in Union.
He wouldn't get 400K returning to the NRL ... as he has lost the deft touch required in the far more skillful NRL
( Khunts fumbling has improved a lot  ) ... & a fair amount of his bulk is gone ... he is now quite the scrawny stick insect

so most NRL clubs would probably only off him 250K
but if singletball think he'll stay on on about a 3rd of what he signed on for originally playing their BS game ... then they are highly deluded about the reasons he joined them in the first place

Good point.
Historically players in Sydney moved from AR to rl as they filled out and there was great deal of co-operation between the codes. Nowadays the opposite applies. A growing number of rl players have moved to AR and now we are seeing elite mature rl players crossing over . There is quite a list now . Paul Kelly, Kieran Jack, Hunt, Folau and a couple of Mortimers just off the top of my head.
Nice try Cos.

   .. ah .. lostcos789 & his pure cr@p
a funny read indeed

2 of them went for nothing but money .. a farcial amount of money demonstrating clearly the AFL has gone no where in the last 30 years in NSW & QLD & needed NRL players to help boost their 2 new sides so they needed sports stars from a sport that actually has a profile in NSW & QLD , unlike their failing fumbling code .. but to get them .. they had to pay them nearly the highest salaries in the AFL .. utterly hilarious

Kelly was a kid when he went to rules in wagga ... never played League outside of park football
Keiren Jack the same
the Mortimers never went to.. or came from .. fumbleball .... & went to the NRL's Bulldogs as primarily League playing kids from Wagga

so ... a growing numb is .... 2 :-k 8-[ #-o
& unless vicky kicky fork out the big $$$$$$$$... to keep these 2... that number will revert back to .......... ZERO

once kids get a taste of League , if they are tough enough
they stay with it
why waste their time fumbling .. & bumbling whilst wearing tight shorts & singlets ...

Well pointed out Raider, there has been only a few who have really transitioned from league players to AFL. Even so I think this is fine, the fact that no AFL players have transitioned the other way in the past decades highlights the toughness of league as a sport.

Mortimers going over, cos789? That's tremendous. Next we'll see the junior Lewis's and Meninga's crossing over.

Another fart and a burp. This forum truly needs medical attention.
