Well, the Swannies have finally done it. Yep, they are truly the biggest story in 'ol Sydney town. Just what they've wanted all these years. Front and back page of both Sydney papers. Copious number of pages inside about 'em. Big and bold and out there. Unfortunately it's all bad. Atrocious actually. Club destroying stuff.

I particularly like the article in the SMH - "How the Swans faithful were sold a lie". It details the truth behind the myth. The Swans aren't, and never were, the goody two shoes, whiter than white, little mummies boys they have portrayed themselves to be.

They have just been lucky that apart from a few hard core fans no one in Sydney town has a clue who they are. This has allowed them to behave in whatever way they liked and never get caught out. Booze, drugs, women and good times have always been their way.

Now they've been caught out. It's not surprising. But it is about time. The Emperor has no clothes. The virtuous ones have fallen. The rug has been pulled. And underneath it stinks.

Yep. The bell has tolled.

Yep. Wilkie was right all along. "Systemic cover-up" exactly.

"But Federal MP Andrew Wilkie, who used parliamentary privilege in 2024 to allege the AFL was engaged in a systemic cover-up of illicit drug use, says he is “not surprised that the allegation is now circulating that drugs were being used at the Pullman Hotel by some AFL players”.

Some have taken action. Colgate, Volkswagon and Telstra have suspended or paused their sponsorship with the players involved. QBE and real.estate.com have condemned the actions of the players but not pulled out yet.

Kmart pulls all Swans bubbleheads nation wide. BigW pulls merchandise related to the Pullman Five. No charges preferred yet. It seems some of the sexual assault allegations relate to how many slaps on the butt the players paid the strippers for. Ummmm.......interesting. The most serious allegation relates to a player touching a stripper on the private parts without permission.

This is a very tawdry tale. But I must say it is not at the worst end of sexual assault allegations. The media of course is beating this up like hell. If the Swans sack the Pullman five they might get over this fiasco quicker than it initially looked. Watch this space.

Also: has anyone checked in on our dear leader???? I didn't see him on banner holding or pom pom waving duties at the game against norf. Here's hoping he's doing ok.

Hi Terry

If this is about an extra slap only then there has to be questions asked - but think it is much more than that. The issue still remains that players were out drinking, had strippers back in their room, and were doing drugs - which still is a massive issue and what has seen the current bans put in place - and rightly so. if there is any charges - and a guilty verdict re: sexual assault - I would imagine deregistering is the only option for most if not all. Surely the players have bought the game in to disrepute?

to be completely honest i have not taken much notice to this incident, as big as it has become,
but it has happened in NRL numerous times, not of this kind of state but in general matters where the MEDIA has jumped on
and went crazy over, and generally the player was proven incident.

if the players and the club are proven to be found guilty of matters

Players should be abolished from the AFL.
and club should be fined.

but ill wait and see to put any more comments on this

True. The difference is most of the NRL dramas concerned allegations against players out of season. And they were eventually not found guilty. At the least these AFL blokes have been on the booze and probably drugs, ordered strippers in and went on an all nighter. All after a game and a couple of weeks out from the semi's.

If I ran the Swans they'd be sacked just for that. Obviously if they're found guilty of any criminal offences they'll be gone anyway. Just incredibly dumb behaviour.
