i am surprised GWS have not thought of this every season..
Tonight, Caro again reported on The Agenda Setters the $1 million figure required to reconfigure Accor Stadium. I’m still astonished it would cost that much to push the seats out for oval configuration. Perhaps I missing something here? Leeroy, Wookie, perhaps you know more? Does that $1 million figure sound right? Haven’t seen anyone from the AFL or the Giants confirming Caro’s reporting.
what i found a few sites about the configuration of the seating was this

>>>>

Changing the seating configuration at Olympic Park (Accor Stadium) is incredibly expensive ($1 million+ per transition) because the lower and middle tiers sit on massive, mechanically shifted bleacher modules. It requires specialized engineering, cranes,
Time and labour costs
Massive Engineering Scale: The movable tier system weighs thousands of tonnes. Shifting it to change from a rectangular field (rugby, soccer) to an oval field (AFL, cricket) requires heavy machinery and highly specialized structural engineers

I think it comes down to the Stadium was not really designed to be oval to rectangle properly.
so it is hard and expensive to do at Olympic and quite time consuming..

i would not be surprised the NRL put matches on the same weekend to really stuff up this idea.

(for the GWS i do not know how you make back 1 million dollars)
i wonder if it also includes leasing the stadium as well.

i have actually never heard of that expense until CARO mentioned it

Wow, very interesting. Cheers Leeroy. =D

I wonder if the AFL as owners of the Giants can work out some kind of deal with Venues NSW that is mutually beneficial. Especially in light of the Rabbitohs renegotiating their contract to allow for their games to be moved to Moore Park. Accor needs another tenant to fill the void. What a headache for the AFL.

The Ginats have sucked enough money outta the rate payers and taxpayers of NSW. They deserve exactly zero, zilch, none and nil further assistance. They have made their own bed. Let 'em sleep in it. As stinky as it is.

that is actually a bright idea.
South Sydney would jump at the idea.
game swap for GWS and its a win win for both codes. (unsure on the amount)

GWS could even offer a Accor Membership category
