This must scare Raiderdave a lot. With the Australian TV industry in a massive downward spin, the world econmey on the brink, I wonder how much money the big networks will have to risk on a sport that is only watched in two states in Australia. Scary sacry times.

networks need increased revenue to help their positions , they need strong products that they can depend on to deliver ratings , so they can attract advertisers

theres only one sport that can do this
one sport that is increasing its market share .... that is growing in popularity with ever increasing appeal

If networks don't have the money they wont bid in first place. With the world economy in all sorts of trouble, advertising spend will also be reduced. A game that only rates in 2 states of Australia and is only broadcast before midnight in 2 states of Australia is hardly the type of investment advertisers and broadcasters alike are going to invest in.

Our $1.253 Billion by the way is already banked. :P

Good luck with your negotiations. Gees, with 15 of the 16 NRL clubs broke, you wanna hope the NRL can deliver. The signs aren't looking good. :<> :<> :<>

they weigh up investment V return , & shell out based on this

its quite obvious broadcasters won't make any money of flogball for the next 5 years , it is a declining sport going nowhere .. yet they were prepared to pay what they did fo it

imagine what they will pay for a sport that is hitting all the marks
