Re: AFL & NRL Finals Footy TV Ratings - 2025
Here is a beautifully written article by our dear friend at sportsindustry about the state of play between the codes. In short: the AFL has maxxed out. It has nowhere else to go. It's leaders have run out of ideas and are treading water. RL on the other hand is flying. New teams are coming in and there is a long cue for further expansion in NZ and the pacific. And there is talk of the NRL taking over Superleague Europe. For the NRL the world is their oyster whilst the AFL is chomping down on a shit sandwich lololol!!!!!!!!!!! You know its true.

Re: AFL & NRL Finals Footy TV Ratings - 2025
Fun fact:
The Storm's 734,000 in the Melbourne Oztam metro (which includes Geelong etc) of 5.5 million is 13.4% of the viewing population.
The Lions 456,000 in the Brisbane Oztam metro (which includes Gold Coast etc) of 3.6 million is 12.7%.
So NRL in Melbourne had a higher percentage of viewers than the AFL in South-East Queensland

Re: AFL & NRL Finals Footy TV Ratings - 2025
also worth noting
that the NRL entertainment beat AFL entertainment by 1 Million
the question begs, is it worth paying such high coin for artists at Grand Finals
