309 million for 2500 seats!
Tasmanis cant get a first class venue for all codes and event yet
Work has officially commenced on the major redevelopment of Penrith Stadium, marking a major milestone for Western Sydney’s sporting and entertainment landscape.
The $309 million project, backed by the NSW Government, promises to transform the aging stadium into a modern, multipurpose venue set to benefit the region for generations.
Led by construction firm John Holland Group, the redevelopment will generate approximately 500 jobs during construction and support an estimated 650 ongoing roles once the stadium is operational.
The project is expected to be a significant economic driver for Penrith and surrounding areas, boosting local businesses and enhancing the region’s appeal as a sporting and events hub.
Premier Chris Minns described the redevelopment as a key part of his government’s vision for Western Sydney.
"We’re excited to see work underway on a stadium that will not only deliver world-class sporting experiences but also serve as a vibrant community and entertainment precinct," Minns said.
"This isn’t just a stadium for sports fans—it’s a place for everyone, offering public spaces, multipurpose courts, and year-round community access."
When completed in 2027, the new Penrith Stadium will be able to host up to 25,000 spectators for sporting fixtures and up to 30,000 for 10 major concerts each year.

Re: 309 million for 2500 seats!
the equivalent of a billion for 500K people in Tasmania ... when converting to NSW
is a 17 billion dollar stadium being built in Sydney
that would never happen
nor should a roofed stadium in Hobart

Sydney have home bush and paramatta up the road, according to google 30 to 40 minutes drive up the road for the NRL fans that are brave enough to risk there life and put that tribal rivalry aside and leave the house.
all the issue it is is total fear from the NRL fan

its called inflation as to why things are more expensive!, 309 million for 2.5k seats then try and tell me with new and other first class venues up the road! and Tasmania cant get first class venue!
how is the state meant to attract events without a decent venue. the Tasmanians have to get on an aeroplane across the bass straight to the mainland each time as opposed to drive 30 minutes up the road like they dont want to do in Sydney?
its straight out jealously and fear and to think the weather in Hobart is that similar to Sydney makes you even more nieve
as quoted the Hobart stadium will hose around 300 events, Penrith will host up to 10 concerts and the NRL team home games, 22 events a year?
to take your own advice

309 million for 2.5k extra seats currently being upgraded in Penrith!for 11/12 home games and a possibility of 10 concerts max
! i mean what band will play a large concert 50kms west of Sydney, they will play an indoor venue or a outdoor venue closer
the price for the Tasmanian stadium is a bargain! with a roof thrown in. Tasmania, Hobart a state has the right to 1 premium venue that will host a claimed 300 events a year plus AFL games and other events

the point is of the whole argument that has you lit in a fit is Tasmaia cant get a stadium while NRL teams are having stadiums built!
that is the simple part you struggle to understand! max 22/23 events to Penrith, id imagine some shit? far west of Sydney will not bring any economic return to money spent.
a large sole venue in a State that will host 300 plus events, on an island, will bring tourism and a trickle down effect to other businesses. i know this will be to difficult for you to understand as NRL fans dont leave the house due to that tribal rivalry, but normal people travel and eat out and educate them self and see new things!
the last few years of the NRL bringing SOO & local games to WA has been a real eye-opening experience!. the odd fan that may be a local or travel comes out of the wood work and they make the EPL English locals yobbo look educated and well-rounded and at least you can have some normal level conversation and banter with them! 25 years of living in Europe and attending all sorts of events, ive never met such a weird dim witted bunch of people as i have as the League fans, its like being part of the requirements for being a fan! so i cant see many people wanting to travel out to Western Sydney for tourism reasons except have a laugh at some neanderthal

you really are shit scared nor have a clue about anything real worl!
its called inflation as to why things are more expensive!, 309 million for 2.5k seats then try and tell me with new and other first class venues up the road! and Tasmania cant get first class venue!
how is the state meant to attract events without a decent venue. the Tasmanians have to get on an aeroplane across the bass straight to the mainland each time as opposed to drive 30 minutes up the road like they dont want to do in Sydney?
its straight out jealously and fear and to think the weather in Hobart is that similar to Sydney makes you even more nieve
as quoted the Hobart stadium will hose around 300 events, Penrith will host up to 10 concerts and the NRL team home games, 22 events a year?

Parramatta cost 300 million in 2019
for 30K seats
Allianz 828 million in 2022
for 42K seats
yet Tasmanians are expected to pay over a billion for 23K seats
only a gold olympic medal class moron would cop that

309 million for 2.5k extra seats currently being upgraded in Penrith!for 11/12 home games and a possibility of 10 concerts max
! i mean what band will play a large concert 50kms west of Sydney, they will play an indoor venue or a outdoor venue closer
the price for the Tasmanian stadium is a bargain! with a roof thrown in. Tasmania, Hobart a state has the right to 1 premium venue that will host a claimed 300 events a year plus AFL games and other events
25k Seats is too small, and they are still keeping a HILL at the northern end..
20k was pretty much the limit at last stadium>> as hills were packed like sardines for this to happen.
if you believe the NEW HOBART stadium will host 300 events a YEAR

this would officially make it the busiest stadium in the world >>>

Re: 309 million for 2500 seats!
so its a joke, so just automatically just spend 309 million on a brand new one that hosts 11/12 games a year and up 10 concerts. what artist, band will want to play a show in the edge of western suburbia 60kms out from the city when they can play in or near the cityleeroy*NRL* wrote: Fri Jul 25, 2025 10:45 am(the initial design of the PENRITH STADIUM is a complete joke. Tasmanis and Hobart are entitled to a stadium being the capital like everyh other state has, the 300 events could be AFL to meetings and conferences, it could be a beer testing or an arts display help by local artists freaks with the green or purple hair and noise rings for all we know.
but it needs to be built right and done correct the first tme so they arnt needing to rebuild it like a perfect example like the penrith stadium apparently need to be
