719,000: Wallabies set a new Subscription TV record

Post by Beaussie »

Wow, I finally got around to updating the Pay TV ratings and I was floored when I came across the following. 719,000 on Fox. Staggering numbers. Well done Wallabies. =D>

Amazing figure and smashes all Pay TV records. I was led to believe Rugby League was strong on Pay TV. How wrong was I to listen to NRL supporters? Oh and further, didn't Raider say the Rugby World Cup would be a flop? Hmm... #-o
719,000: Wallabies set a new Subscription TV record
By David Knox on October 17, 2011

The Rugby World Cup Semi Final between Australia and New Zealand has set a new Subscription TV record with a whopping 719,000 viewers.

The broadcast of last night’s game, which was live and uninterrupted on FOX Sports, now becomes the most watched event in Australian subscription television history, eclipsing the average audience of 531,000 set by the Super Rugby Final in July.

its amazing how when you look at the facts you see the amount of lies the rugby league crowd around here produce. Nice job Beaussie keeping them honest.

Well yes every 4 years the ARU gets a great PAYTV rating. However, it must be truly embarrassing for the AFL world given they trail NRL badly on PAY so now Rugby jumps them.

Of course we have just seen the OZTAM ratings for the full year which shows the NRL beating the AFL by 15m viewers so embarrassment in TV Ratings must be something the AFL fan has grown us.ed to

Let me guess, Roy Masters told you that. Facts have never been his or your strong point that much is clear. #-o

The combined FTA and Pay TV figures show the AFL is the number one sport in this great country of ours. Well will you lot learn to accept reality. Sheeshh ](*,)

no question thats an impressive figure

they also held the record for pay TV figures from earlier in the year ... with 530K for their GF
but unlike this rugby world cup semi final...this was the only place you could watch this game ... with no FTA coverage of the Super 15 Grand Final

so Rugby will hold places 1 & 2 in the top 100 Pay TV audiences for 2011, & good on em too
they rarely get to be in the lime light like this ... they won't get a number like this again (719K) until the next rugby world cup is played involving Australia in a friendly time zone .... which will be Japan in 2019
they won't get 530K again unless an Australian S15 team makes the Grand Final

meanwhile the NRL does not need " favourable conditions " & things in their favour & continues to be the most watched sport on pay TV with its home & away games consistently the highest rating programs on Pay
imagine if our finals & Grand Final or ... SOO were on Pay TV ..... this 719K would be stomped on from a great height ..
by this Countrys most watched sport
Rugby League

Once again the AFL mob run nay sprint away from the facts because the bogey man Roy Masters reported the data. Reported is the key word because the actual data comes from OZTAM who have not screamed foul or claimed that Roy misrepresented the data which of course he did not.

The most alarming fact from the AFL mobs perspective must be the fact that the number grows in favour of the NRL each year which is what I believe they call a trend.

Denial is strong within the AFL ranks. Therapy seems to be the only answer.

Roy Masters is a fruad. Been caught out many a time twisting facts and double counting to suit his stupid agenda. No one takes him seriously. On Offsiders on the ABC they just laugh at the old merkin.

You have to prove the numbers a "fraud" not Roy Masters. The "screaming" silence from both OZTAM and the AFL proves they are not false despite the hysterical claims of some AFL supporters. This is just another classic AFL method of avoiding data that does not support their view of the world. Therapy has to be the answer
