depents if Dazn are interested in exclusive rights or want to be a big player in Australia. being a company from the UK might want to put billions of dollars in to the Union and EPL and European soccer leagues, heck even cricket with the the amount of Indians living in Europe and UK now days.

any Australian sport or viewership worth in Australia is a needle in the hay stack for the other codes mentioned
are you saying DAZN who paid over 3 Billion for FOX are willing to loose there biggest Sport and highest rating program ??
which FOX was built on (NRL) and had for over 30 years.

The deal valued Foxtel at $3.4 billion. Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp sold its 65 per cent stake in Foxtel and took a 6 per cent interest in DAZN plus a board seat. Telstra, which owned the remaining 35 per cent, will have a 3 per cent stake in DAZN.

DAZN (pronounced "da zone") has been described as the "Netflix of sports". The company is part of Perform Group, a U.K. based sports media company owned by Len Blavatnik's Access Industries.[47]

DAZN specialise in buying rights to broadcast sports including football, boxing and Formula 1 motor racing, outside of their domestic markets. The sports streaming service is available in Japan, Germany and Canada. [48]

In May 2018, DAZN signed an eight-year, $1 billion deal with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing to stream fights on a new U.S. subscription service.[49]

In June 2018, DAZN paid €600 million for domestic screening rights for Italian Serie A football matches in a three-year deal.[50] The deal was believed to involve 2.5 billion euros ($3 billion) of payments over its three-season lifespan [51]

In October 2018, DAZN signed the largest commercial deal in history with a single athlete when they paid Mexican boxer Saul "Canelo" Alvarez $365 million for the rights to screen 11 fights.[49]

DAZN's last set of published results, for the year to 2019, showed a loss of more than $1.3 billion for continuing and discontinued operations.[48] The company, which is dependent on subscriptions, saw revenue take a hit when the COVID-19 pandemic brought an abrupt halt to live sports.[51] Shortly after the outbreak of the pandemic, DAZN was forced to tell European football leagues that it would not pay for games that had been put on hold.[52] Chief Executive Officer Simon Denyer explained: "With revenues dropping and investment not available, we can only survive by making some hard decisions."[52]

In late 2020, DAZN unveiled a slate of original documentary programming featuring global sporting icons such as Ronaldo and British boxer Anthony Joshua.[51]

In February 2022, Blavatnik agreed a $4.3 billion recapitalisation of DAZN. The Financial Times reported that this would enable the company to target new revenue streams in betting.[53]

that makes sense why in some artical mentioned wanting to buy the Rugby league in England then

the AFL turned up and TV excs said what do you want

i wonder if Beaussie or any of the other posters on here work or live near any of the TV network officers in Sydney, so they can provide some feed back from the fits of laughter that will be heard again of PVL trying to look like a b rate mafia wannabe used car salesman in his cheap black suit, greasy hair surrounded by fellow goons leaving the office after, he failed to convince the tv excs of his coocked numbers that he tried to compare against the AFL

the only thing growing in your game is the tax payer funding that PVL gets out of politicians like ALBO.

tv excs are a whole different story as they are responsible for the and going by past history they dont even take the ratings system 12k rating systems for 27 milion prople, and they sure as shit dont take b grade mafia wannabe PVL seriously

they laughed his arse out of the office last time, and all you can cry about his he had the rug pulled from under him,

most watched in the land

something the networks thm self dont take seriously, PVL being laughed out of the office proved this point
more cash going in the bank
due to cut backs and ALBO paying for everything
growing faster in every metric

crowd coming from a base half the size of the AFL and needing Magic rounds and double header cumbers all combined then listed individually for each game

expansion iotions, like the game has boomed to no where in Melbourne?
Perth, Adeliade they will be the same as the Storm experiment
its all what its and NRLs gonna do this!

how funny is it all those free and cheap tickets, double headers and magic rounds to boost crowd numbers to give the false idea the numbers are booming

its shit like that is why the TV excs laughed there arsess off at PVL, his own look is hilarious like he has been watching to many episodes of the Sopranos, cheap suits and enough grease the local fish and chip shop would be curious to find out his supplier to see if its brought in bulk for a good special,
he bullied the beta cuck albo around who just wants to be liked, then when it came time to bully some business men around with his inflated numbers they showed him & said take it or leave it and he whimpered out like a little cuck

GIl comes in and TV excs ask what do you want and how long do you want it for

Interesting analysis and noteworthy that digital sports rights do not come under the anti siphoning legislation to guarantee free to air broadcast of major sports.

News Ltd reporting this morning what has been a strong rumor for some time now
Ch9/Stan .. is going to bid for all 9 games of NRL ... 3 on Ch 9, 6 on Stan behind a paywall.

& DAZN absolutely want the NRL rights , but in addition ... Origin & the GF simulcast with an FTA broadcaster
The winner here
