so
all 3 codes are in OUR nations capital again this weekend

The Brumbies are playing an elimination quarter final against Wellington on Saturday night at GIO ,
At the same time the Grants are playing across town at Manuka ..
weather conditions at this stage are forecast to be wet & chilly , around 4c when the games start

on Sunday the Raiders are playing South Sydney at GIO , where Josh Papalii will become the most capped player in the clubs 43 year history
with his 319th appearance , & a big crowd is tipped to attend for that reason , & just in general as the Raiders are playing very well so far this season.
Again , the weather forecast for Sunday will be an extension of Saturday , chilly & wet.

Sold out GIO Stadium for women’s soccer.

The Matildas crowd of 25,125 set a new record for the most watched women’s sporting event in the ACT.

Could be 2 sellouts in one week at the one venue in Canberra this week , with the Raiders on track for one , ( their 2nd this year)
for Sundays game V Souths

This level of interest in the green machine this year not seen in the nations capital for 30 years

Its about time for Albo to tell the skinnywhitewankerball fan , the ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr ... enough is enough

The Federal Govt has the funds to contribute & wants to do just that , to finally get a suitable rectangle stadium built in Canberra , which is long over due
But that singlet wearing twerp, moron of a twat Barr continues to drag its feet ( most of this century )
& refuses to present a business case to the feds for the funding.
No , its too busy ruining your nations capital with 10 billion dollars worth of light rail powered by endangered red rock wallaby farts that 10 people ride a day

useless coont
& a typical fumbletard [-X [-X [-X [-( [-( [-(

Help them get a stadium': What was said to Albo in a Raiders corporate suite

NRL powerbrokers have thrown their weight into the good fight for Canberra, seizing a moment with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to deliver a cheeky reminder about the city's stadium plight.

In a quiet corner of a corporate suite at Canberra Stadium, NRL boss Andrew Abdo and Albanese joked about the Raiders-Rabbitohs clash and the Green Machine's superb comeback.

Abdo was at the game to pay tribute to Josh Papali'i after he became the most-capped Raider of all time while Albanese - a long-time Rabbitohs fan - was attending as a guest of South Sydney's board members.

And while most of the conversation centred around what was happening off the field, the focus soon turned to the fans who were shivering through the coldest game of the year so far.

Those within earshot told us Abdo said words to the effect of "you should help them get a new stadium" as the apparent temperature stayed below zero degrees.

Everyone chuckled, and while the comment was made in a joking nature, there was an element of seriousness as the capital's 16-year stadium saga continues to drag on.

At worst, it was a perfect reminder for Albanese, who has been one of the only recent prime ministers to invest in major Canberra infrastructure.

The problem is Albanese's hands are tied until ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr knocks on his door with a ready-to-build business case with a location, a timeline and a cost.

At the moment the ACT government is in the midst of another stadium study - this time an examination of a 25-hectare plot of land to determine the best spot for a $1.9 billion stadium.

That report is due in the coming months, but there is growing concerns the project will get pushed beyond its current deadline of 2033.

Albanese committed $250 million to the AIS refurbishment last year and added another $10 million to help the ACT government deliver a detailed business case on a health, education and sports hub at Bruce.

That is slated to include a new stadium, but Albanese can't pledge money or tick off on land allocation until Barr's team is ready.
