Cricket need's to be part of the Deal, they will hold majority of there matches at the stadium

BBL GAMES
AUSTRALIAN GAMES
STATE GAMES>

the Devils are they not planning to have a few games at Launceston anyways.
if Cricket say Bellerive Oval is there preference (6 to 8 games a year is pointless just for 1 AFL team
Todd Greenberg ( present CA CEO, also former NRL CEO ) has come out recently & said they will NOT use the venue if it has a roof
Shadows cast across the pitch from a roof is no good for batsmen or broadcasters

If the venue is built with a roof CA will use Belrieve instead , further reducing the ROI significantly on this proposed venue

Agreed Cricket should have just as big say as AFL as well as other codes in this matter..

AFL CEO DILLION (looks like he would backtrack on roof all together (but is playing hardball) will TAS government call his bluff

Jeremy Rockliff >>> looks super STUBORN and just wants Stadium to go through no matter what the costs

Let’s be real here, the entire impetus for a new stadium is the new AFL team with some cricket and major events/concerts.

Cricket will realistically only ever have BBL and the odd test match vs countries like Bangladesh or Afghanistan. Sheffield Shield crowds are a joke and best kept at Bellerive Oval lol

The Tasmanian government signed up for a conditional AFL licence with the understanding of no new roofed stadium = no new team.

What politician is honestly going to say to their constituents they’re the reason Tassie is not getting an AFL team. Political suicide, plain and simple.

A responsible politician dopey
its their job to be just that

there is no need for a multi billion dollar stadium in Hobart for any sporting team
zip
none

the venues there atm are used for the fumbling & stumbling & are just fine
with some lipstick they will do the job just as well for the forseeable future
this stadium is an over priced wank job [-X [-X [-X [-( [-( [-(

That's the crux of it right there - this was the agreement made between the two - conditional on a roofed stadium.

ah no
the crux is the agreement is garbage

they don't need a stadium
they certainly don't need a roof

neither should be a condition of entry

happy to piss money up the wall in NSW & QLD trying to become relevant & still generally failing .....
happy to compromise their comp trying to achieve the above , at the expense of their heartland

2000 people in Western Sydney is acceptable
22000 heartland fans is not unless they're in an over priced , roofed vanity monument

Cricket BBL games will be around 6 games per year. (make finals its more)
New Stadium would def entice more maybe ODI games or T20 games.

i think if they sacrificed the roof would they scrap the deal. (i doubt it)

It is a standoff - who will blink first. My thinking is that Tasmanians want a team much more than the AFL want a team in tasmania. It could actually be an out for the AFL if it doesn't go ahead. I mean no 19th team so no bye, ongoing concerns over possible funding, the negative atmosphere that may occur should there be issues with the team etc. The AFL don't need any of those things - there is no major gain for them I can see to be honest apart from having a team in that state.

Also, wasn't there a "fine" system in place if it does not go ahead as planned?

i do not get why it needs a roof ??
A roof should be standard on any new stadium builds I reckon. Nothing worse than being drenched at an event. Better for crowds to have a roof. Marvel is a great example in Melbourne.
shouldn't it largely depend on the the temperature and climate of the city, docklands has been great for Melbourne regardless of that the MCG nut complain about. Perth doesn't need one, Queensland would be to humid but needs good coverage for the fans from the rain. Tasmania defiantly the wind own there is horrible, you see the spectators covering up in winter gear for a cricket game in the summer and effects the game play as it blows the ball around, some games players will have a shot 30 meters out and the ball will still land short of the goal line due to the wind

well its a window into the slimebags who run skinnywhitewankerball , & the thick as pig shit fans who follow it

It'd be like the NRL choosing a team in Adelaide first with no conditions , no guarantees etc , it failing badly, ,then telling Newcastle they can have a team but only if they build a roofed 1.5 billion dollar stadium

:hmm:

NRL fans would burn League Central to the ground if the sports heartland was treated like that
That is....... NOT ... good enough !!

while the koolaid slurping clown derpball fans are like
oh well , they should have to build a stadium if our dodgy as fuck glorious leaders say so :-k

legit true,

Having Tasmania in the comp (has already been stated it will not lift Tv rights (its too low) Therefore not lift rights $$
and also correct (costings will jump pretty high it want be cheap to operate.

if i had to bet on it (it will get through senate) and go its course.
If it does not >> i think they will come to some other conclusion and rearrange the deal for both parties.
if that falls flat (its goodbye Devils.)

i think the FINE was if the stadium was not built on time 2029 Tasmanian government would pay money to AFL

that sounds more like the case with the Bears and PVL tried to pull pull with the WA government!

No the NRL fans would not do that! aside from a few NRL fans, who feel the need to like a big tough boy on the internet from the bedroom of mummies house, who are afraid to leave the house due to tribal rivalry! :(/
