I believe that was during covid Sooks when everybody was at home and ratings rose across the board. So probably not relevant in the context stated here pal.
Seven and the AFL attributed it to both match length and the stay home issue.

But its also widely known that if you cut AFL match times, the late match drift is also vastly lessened, making the average viewership larger. This has ALWAYS been the case.

This effects AFL if there is a blowout in the 3rd quarter than you go 3/4 time and ad break sheading into the 4th
some viewers would most certainly switch off.
i always thought AFL should reduce length of the half time break>>> it is so LONG.. it is almost double the length of NRL

shorten rounds, there went through this before...

if the AFL want to reduce game length etc Broadcasters will pay less.
Last time they shortened the match times, ratings per match increased. So probably not
yeah i was going to say the same thing...
Covid>>
when every Melbournian could not leave the suburb

Channel 7 would not like less time>>
less time = less Goals.
less time = less Adverts
Sydney was similar!
of thats right due to tribal nature of the NRL, the fans are to scared to leave there home and suburb with no covid restrictions the League fans tell us
