An increase of 13 mill PA ( cash & contra ) to 43 mill pa for 5 years , 215 mill total
some pundits are saying up to half of that increase would be contra , so a very minor increase indeed of 6 or 7 mill pa only in $$.
what 9 get for that is Super Rugby to disappear from FTA TV & go totally behind a paywall on Stan & they're hoping a lot of new subscribers will follow.
I'd say Rugby are happy they got any increase at all tbh , probably the poorest performing of all the football codes , they will be hoping the Lions tour later this year & the home world cup in 2027 will boost the coffers & assist them in off loading their significant debt ( rumored to be 80 mill) because this TV deal for Super rugby will do nothing at all to help.

with the new tv Deal, you now have RA not receiving also 8 Million from NZ Rugby also which was part of the previous deal.
Deal overall is only very slightly up when considering inflation.
RA lose one team (Melbourne Rebels)
Deal goes behind a paywall.
they also have 25million incentives if they hit it. with a winning ratio

Sooner or later one of the streaming services will get exclusive rights(maybe not every game) to one of the NRL or AFL.

Interesting though how long can FTA hang around for...
FTA is still quite strong around the world.
