Private investment for Hobart Stadium
I'm interested to know if people believe the new Hobart stadium will attract Private Investors to help finance it. The government have long said they have big interest but they are yet to reveal any names to this day. Many opposed have said this is because they don't really have interest at all and that they have been scared off by the poor cost benefit ratio.

I'm just talking private investors paying part of the cost in a public private partnership like was the case with optus stadium.azif wrote: Sat Mar 22, 2025 1:05 pmno chance

they want their pound of flesh & have share holders who want a return .... & tax payers pay it in the end
if govts can't afford to build stadiums
they shouldn't be built

Yes, that’s becoming a popular model. Optus and a couple of others have been along this line and seem to have done well, and I suspect the new AFL stadium in Brisbane at Victoria Park may follow a similar path. So could be something that happens - will at least be given some thought.Devils2028 wrote: Sat Mar 22, 2025 4:46 pmI'm just talking private investors paying part of the cost in a public private partnership like was the case with optus stadium.azif wrote: Sat Mar 22, 2025 1:05 pmno chance
