Wel agree. Although if the game was during the day I could see a public holiday not being a factor - people out doing things etc. but a night game I think you’ll get a lot of people at home switching over to have a look. Let’s hope there’s lots of scoring and an action filled game to keep tj interested. Who are the storm playing by the way ?

You’d hope so LeRoy - in isolation, public holiday, people looking for a sports fix - any less would be terrible. If an AFL final was on at the same time I suspect it wouldn’t get near 150000 but with no AFL - a big sports buzz in town- not only would I watch - I would probably go if I could get tickets. This is the perfect storm for an nrl game in Melbourne.
public holidays do not generally reap better ratings ??

insolation yes,

Storm Pre Lims over the pass 15 years up against AFL have rated over 150k

(it is one of the best Days in memory for the storm i have come across)

Swans have had plenty of them
was going to say the same ... typical fwed .. no idea
wouldn't get near 150K in Melbourne if singletball had a final on at the same time     :(/ :(/
now the uptake of STV at the time the Storm have rated 150K plus ( hell they've cleared 200K) isn't what it is these days & was infact very low , but with kayo & foxtel this game should crack 250K in total in Melb
a record outside a grand final

Here’s hoping it gets near 250000 or even betters it. It’s a perfect storm for the storm re: ratings.

ratings are hard to judge these days for the NRL with BVOD streaming on CHANNEL 9
people are moving to streaming and taking numbers off the figure but adding to BVOD

My Point is Storm might get 150k on FTA but have 35k on BVOD (but we will not know as it is not released.)

AFL will have FTA streaming next year.

need the Roosters to make a game of this & score early in this 2nd half

They've been disappointing , some of the defence pretty ineffective , credit to Melb
targeting Keary & Smith on either side of the ruck ... too small .. too slow

Good game so far. The second try by storm was a cracker. And watching on Foxtel Go
first 30mins was a great game.

there errors crept in and Storm ran over the top of them quick and fast..

the disappointing finals series in the NRL continues.

The Storm are not just a good or even great club but incredible , no one can explain their longevity of success & their ability to continually get the playing group to perform at or near their optimum all year , every year ... its astonishing. When asked questions last night by the officials & the Roosters on occasions during the game they just did what they do ... tiny moments .. micro.. all competed at 100% effort .. all of them
The chooks could simply not keep up with them

There is only one team that can & will .. one team with the individuals who have that mettle & desire to be in those moments too & will not be bullied out of the contest.

The NRL's dissapointing final series will continue tonight when the Sharks are outgunned emphatically i fear , they will try but they won't have the bullets to worry the Panthers.
but thats where the disappointment will end.

And the 2 best teams.... easily.... this year will face off in a GF for the ages . These 2 are equal in every dept , & are the 2 teams that will deliver a contest worthy of the occasion.
Penrith if they win tonight .. thats 5 GF's in a row , equaling Souths run of 1967-1971 .. , Souths winning 4 of them 67-68 & 70-71 Balmain stopping them winning 4 in a row or 5 in a row with their win in 1969.
If Penrith win it will be their 4th in a row & that hasn't happened since the Dragons 1963-1966
& in an era with salary cap restrictions that feat by Penrith will be simply remarkable in itself.

anyway
looking forward to it

I enjoyed it - although second half a lot of fast forwarding - going to when the tries happened.

Still think the other team - panthers? Will take the big one.
