As with most things you say sooks this is only a partial truth. As you well know the perennially drunken fool that 'invented' the game went to Rugby school in good 'ol England!!! You know the one that gives its name to Rugby Union and Rugby League. Might be a hint in there for ya pal lolololol!!!!
The drunken fools main sport was cricket. When he returned to Australia he was a well known cricket player, administrator and drunk. He wanted a simple less physical game than Rugby for his precious cricketers to play in the off season. The cricketers were mainly soft sons of the wealthy elite of Melbon unused to real physical and athletic activity. (Pretty much like todays fumblers lololololol).
Hence he invented a mish mash low contact kick and giggle sport that combined the rules of Rugby, Soccer and other ball games of the time in England. He also added some personal variations that lessened the chance of the lilywhite softies from incurring nasty bruises, sprained muscles or blisters on their pristine little hands and feet. Ouch!!!!!!
So there ya have it sookie. The truth!!! The game was indeed 'invented' in Australia by an Australian. Well done on that point pal. But it was infact based on games already played in the 'ol dart for decades.
