Re: Footy Crowds - 2024
Crowds - don’t count as they’re ex-pats or ex union. Or they’re fudged.
Playing numbers / none count as they’re always faked. Even registered players playing each weekend don’t seem to count.
Antidotes - all lies to try and prove a point- even when no point is being tried to made.
They’re the stats/figures I was thinking of.
Media attention - all paid for
Tv shows being showed in prime time - all forced upon the network.
Tv rights - Murdoch trying to punish the nrl.
Re - ratings - I think you have a really valid point. My question is what do people think is a good figure in a rl dominant state. There is no malice in the question I’m just curious as to what figure you would say - not a bad effort. Now you’ve said 300000 for a game - so we will see if they get that in Sydney somewhere down the track. I’d be happy with say 100000 in Sydney for a home and away where Sydney are playing (as a bare pass that indicates a decent level of interest).

Re: Footy Crowds - 2024
Wasn’t every game pretty much a sell out or close to? Where were finals played last year?
Next week giants at their home ground (engine) - not sure what that holds - be interesting re: the crowd - how many giants v lions supporters.

Re: Footy Crowds - 2024
If the midgets
Roy Masters called them the.... "Grants" this morning on offsiders & upset that lisping old cow Caro Wilson ...
gold , just gold .. that'll be their name from now on
if their game isn't sold out in their tiny ground (24K) then just give up
pack em up & move them
The Grants are a joke as we all know & to not be sold out , every seat sold in a region with more people then Perth , in the 1st few days of next week would just confirm the fact they're a joke
They claim.... claim ... they have 33K members
lets see em

Re: Footy Crowds - 2024
I think it is universally agreed that the Giants are struggling to ingratiate themselves to the local community. It simply hasn’t gone well. Numerous reasons why apart from the fact very few people follow AFL in the area (that was the whole point of putting a team there - to tap into an untouched large market), the whole lack of community consultation, the ambiguous name that no one identified with, playing in Canberra, moving out of Blacktown —- list goes on and on.
But they will stay- and be bank rolled to stay regardless. A name change, a change in jumper - keeping it to one home and one away (I liked the black one they wore yesterday), not playing in Canberra.
The crowd next week - lots of sponsorship tickets I suspect - I doubt a sell out to be honest and think some brisbame supporters may make the trip.
I do agree- gws off feild are a basket case for the AFL in their plans to expand in that area - but they will not be going any where. Even many AFL fans would like to see them fold and money put elsewhere.

what a ridiculous take .... more like waste a franchise
They are the bastard child of arrogance & nothing more ...... fumbleball house truly believed their own hype with the Swines filling the SCG a few times that surely ..... surely had support in Western Sydney
I mean we will rig their success like we did the Swines & Wions .. like rig the shit out of it & suuureeelllyy they will come ...
They found out the hard way .... no fans .. none & here we are with the grants on their 7th finals campaign in the last 9 years & theres less fans then there was when they were running last

that would be like the NRL filling the Adelaide Oval a few times for origin & plonking a team there based on that
only morons would do that , or deluded clowns
The Grants are the biggest joke in Australian sport , closely followed by the 14 years without 1 finals games Thuns
This round of fumbleball expansion has been an unmitigated disaster
