Wild Card Round ??

Post by Fred »

Lots more talk of Wild Card round in AFL. Is this where 7 through to 10 play off for the final two spots I think. What’s peoples thoughts on this idea - it is seeming more and more likely I think.

utterly ridiculous
only a moron could come up with this concept or think its a good idea

could you imagine the team sitting in 7th , a few games ahead .. or more .. of the team in 10th getting sucker punched in a one off game & missing out on finals ??

its the top 8 ,
not top 10

if you aren't good enough to make the top 8 & you're in 9th .. or 10th FFS in the final round of the H&A ... you're not good enough
bye bye , see ya next year

up there with a PNG team in the NRL
a garbage idea
just crap

Wild Cards work in NFL because it has divisions and a total of 32 teams

ridiculous if the AFL go down this path (rewarding a 10th place team that could potentially be
3 OR 4 WINS BEHIND 8TH

what are the networks not happy with the Tv Deal already regarding its ratings. and want extra games lol

yea
this is the networks saying to the stumbles in tank tops that their comp is boring & TV ratings reflect this fact...
so lets artificially create some more interest by keeping the 10th placed team in the finals race despite them being

the 10th best team in the comp 8-[

:hmm:

seriously
what snot
the fumbles & derps is an ode to mediocrity as it is
this just confirms it [-( [-( [-( [-( [-( [-(

I tend to agree Azif - I don't even like the final 8 to be honest - would rather a top 6 or something like that as feel the 8 rewards mediocrity. There does appear to be more ground swell support however - with it being playing in the bye week prior to finals (another stupid idea - bye week before finals - have it before the Grand final if you are going to have it). Also looking at it being played away from Melbourne - possibly Brisbane or Perth - regardless of teams playing.

ground swell from mediocre clubs that can't make the 8 after 24 rounds of trying & AFL officials wanting to milk fake excitement
this needs to be seen for what it is
a garbage idea
