NRL or Lockyer unheard of in Adelaide

Post by Grim Reaper »

Well here I am in Adelaide, the place is just buzzing with both AFL and SANFL finals being in full swing. After speaking with many of the locals here not one of them has ever heard of this Lockyer thing whatever it is. But the most amazing thing is that not many here have heard of the NRL with some thinking it was some criminal organisation that should be banned. Others who had heard of the NRL fell to the ground laughing hysterically :(/

I remember when I was in Adelaide a few years back and KE can confirm this, no one knew what NRL was or bothered to care. It's Australian Football heartland, probably on par or stronger than Victoria I'd suggest.

Your "other" football heartland had a significant fall in attendances and TV ratings this year.

Seems they know what the AFL is and decided not up to specification.

May well be open to some new interests

this would be the heartland that had massive drops in attendances & TV ratings

Like nearly everyone , I think SA'ers think the AFL is as boring as bat cr@p too

I'm sorry Beaussie but no, I cant confirm this ridiculous statement.

"No one knew what NRL was or bothered to care"

Did you really think I'd support such an ignorant infactual bulbous headed blabber mouthed statement such as this!?

:puke: You disgust me! I recall being in Adelaide and enjoying the casino and a few bars. There was no surveying of the cities attitudes to NRL whatsoever.

I can though concur with Dogs' statement a few weeks back that there are quite a few Rugby League grounds to be viewed on the flight into town :D

Beware TF members!!! Beaussie aka the man who cried wolf is in action once again [-X

What would you know, you were too blind to know what was going on. I on the other hand asked many locals about the football. When I mention NRL they had a blank look on their faces generally whilst others as is common in most parts of Australia confused the NRL with Union/Wallabies. I kid you not.

There are also significantly more soccer fields, than AFL where I travelled. So maybe it is more of a soccer heartland.

Your a pathetic liar DOG. I am here at Westfiled Marion and there is NO nrl or Wogball...oops soccer fields anywhere in the area. The city is abuzz with AFL and SANFL. Any mention on nrl grand final is met with amusement and laughter and the good thing is that Underbelly Razor is on Sun night and not that nrl rubbish that would be polluting the SA airwaves that night.

Really Grim? I just checked the Adeliade TV guide and they're playing the NRL GF LIVE on channel 9 from 4pm. This is including pre game entertainment  Those Adelaidians are committed to slotting in 2 and a half hours of live NRL action on Sunday :D I hope you're reading this too Beaussie, mr No Adelaidians know about the NRL

Yes Dogs I'd have to agree. This reminds me of my very first stoush with the since evicted from the fight club TLPG. I accurately stated that there are many more Soccer juniors than AFL. He blew his nut and couldnt face the facts and started drooling uncontrollable dribble all over the thread, shaming himself disgracefully.

I'd say in terms of players and those following the sport Adelaide is AFL and Soccer Heartland, followed by League.

Well expect 0 ratings in Adelaide on Sunday if they are showing that rubbish on Channel 9 at 4pm. Am sure the Jerry Lewis repeats on any other channel will rate higer.

I guess the 65k who watched the 3rd Origin in Adelaide were just channel surfing and got mesmerized by the colours so watched on.

Am I, you pansy racist knobjockey....oops AFL fan. If you are so confident that I am a liar, get in your car and proove it dribbler. I very confident in my observations. Get a sat nav and take a trip to Edinburgh from the airport. You will basically head from the airport up Sir Donald Bradman Ave through to Main North Road to Edinburgh. Stop and count as I didn't get the exact number and I am really confident you will feel embarrassed when you realise how wrong your post above is. I assure you, soccer fields far outway AFL fields and there is certainly a field that has RL posts on main north road. So before you go making allegations with your verbal diahrear, validate what I am saying if your really in Adelaide that is. I will be happy to hear your count followed by an apology in this thread.

Funny you bag soccer, given Aerial ping pong has the same principals and pansy push and shove antics.

The only real differences between the two games is AFL have a bigger field, your ******* aren't skillful enough to only use their feet, so they decided to pick the ball up. AFL reward players for missing the goals and if they have the skill that you learn as a 5 year old to actually catch the ball, nobody is aloud to go near them.

Oh so DOG is a wannabe Biggles fly boy at Edinburgh....or is that weekend warrior? No your too stupid to be one of them and think your just one of these druggies from Virginia way who sells the crap to little kiddies at Elizabeff! #-o

Furthermore DOG you dumb merkin, you go up Bradman Drive from the airport, chuck a left onto South Road and follow it all the way up over Grand Junction Road until you get near Cavan, chuck a left onto Port Wakefield Rd and then another left a few clicks up to the Northern Expressway and follow the signs to Edinburgh....no thugby or soccer fields on the way.

There are also none of these fields if you go along Main North Rd through Medindie, Prospect, Enfield, Clearview, Blair Athol, Gepps Cross, Pooraka, Parafield, Brahma Lodge and Salisbury on that route either dipshit!

The only ovals on Main North Road is the SA Hockey Stadium at Gepps Cross and Prospect Oval...which is a SANFL ground. So in all there are 0...zilch, soccer and filthy rugby grounds there....Zilch or 0 as in nrl ratings in Adelaide! So DOG you are a liar...bit like the tail wagging the DOG huh? :(/

You nrl mob are good of fudging stories to suit your delusional views. Get some glasses you wannabe Edinburgh "fly boy". Also the word is called allowed not aloud #-o :(/

Not every single field I saw was on Main North, however on my travels I saw quite a few of them were on main north road. But given you mentioned there are none here is simple proof your a liar.

Here is the RL field, this is after mawson lakes, but before Edinburgh
